I recently applied early action to many schools, including my two most coveted: UVA and Villanova. I am an NY resident a, which hurts for UVA especially.

97 weighted GPA (4 APs could've took more honestly)
Slight upward trend, nothing crazy 95-96-98.5 and 103.9 first quarter of senior year! (I sent this to all of my schools, hopefully it helps a little)
31 ACT Comp - 32 rdg 29 math 31 eng 32 science
Class rank 34/564 - top 6% decent large public school
High Honor roll all 4 years every quarter
Never got below 90 on ANY grade on transcript
White- Catholic (will help for Nova)

My ECs are decent (banking on Captain of Varsity Basketball raising some eyebrows)
Started my own clothing brand, have professional website which I included
Also helped out in startup of a local tutoring company, showed my created website in app too

Teacher Rec: 1 AMAZING, 1 pretty good. For nova I only submit the best since they only take 1.
Not sure at all about Guidance one

Essays: Very creative and passionate, give myself a 9/10 honest

I am also considering applying Rd to UNC chapel hill, but I know OOS is harder than some ivies
Major: Business - Management Information Systems, Computer science
*For Villanova, I applied directly into School of Business (much harder than regular pool) but for UVA I had to apply into college of arts and sciences since McIntire is only available 3rd year.
Depending on toughness of school I eventually go to, I may opt to dual major but not even thinking about that yet lol

I think UVa might be a bit hard because the out of state spots are very VERY competitive as they, unlike other large public schools like the UCs and Michigan do accept mostly state students.

My friend who graduated last year got into both UNC and UVA, and goes to virginia this year. She had about the same grades as you (although on a 4pt scale rather than 1-100). She also was the captain of our tennis team. Like you, she was out of state, white, and catholic. Your test scores are in their mid range I believe. I think you have a really good shot just from the people I have seen get into those schools from my school. The only school I can’t really chance you for is Villanova because I’m not familiar with the school. Your stats will definitely get you somewhere good! Good luck, and if you don’t mind chancing me back I would really appreciate it :)

I think you have a pretty decent chance with UVA, since your stats are solid as is your ACT score (same as mine, so there’s no bias there).
Also, for Villanova, I think you have a great chance. It’s tougher with business, but I think your stats are still impressive with the harder pool. Both your dream schools seem to be pretty solid targets. (though I have to say, I think Villanova might be a bit easier)
Sorry, but I don’t know much about Chapel Hill except that they send me stuff in the mail (haha). I hope this helps!
