Subject Tests:
I'll use ScoreChoice for SAT I and submit these. I'll probably take Math2, Bio, and Spanish June this year

EC:
Debate - all 4 years
DECA (national marketing club) - all 4 years
Quiz Bowl (went to nationals too) - all 4 years

Science Bowl - Soph, Jun, Sen years
Cary Recreational Basketball - Fresh & Soph

Awards:
3rd Place in States at DECA in my event (Fresh AND Soph year...it was quite ironic. about 50 competitors)

Regional DECA Awards

Too many local debate awards to list

Too many quiz bowl awards to list

(Hopefully this year in debate we'll start winning national tournaments like UPenn, Harvard, Laird Lewis, Emory Tournaments)

In terms of EC's, there may not be that many, but involvement in debate, quiz bowl, and DECA is extremely, extremely heavy with countless success and awards.

Will chance back, please post link! :)

UVa: In
Johns Hopkins: high match (unless you are applying for a pre-med major)
UNC-CH: In
Duke: Low reach
Vanderbilt: Match
William and Mary: In
UChicago: Reach
Northwestern: Low reach
Georgetown SFS:I don’t know enough about it

You have a good chance at all of these schools, but your GPA is on the lower sider. However, your class rank makes up for that.

Quiz Bowl and debate are a bit stereotypical, but since you have many awards in them I don’t see it being a problem.

bump 10 char

UVA-match
Hopkins-match/high match
UNC-match
Duke-Low Reach
W&M-In
Vandy-match
Northwestern-high match
Georgetown-low reach.
You’ll get in to Vandy, W&M, UNC, UVA, and hopefully one or 2 of the others

I’m from North Carolina so Duke charter says they have to take 15% from the Carolinas. Can that be the make or break?

Oh, and NC school with 7 point scale and some grade deflation, which explains the ranking.

bump bump bump

UVa: In
Johns Hopkins: high match (unless you are applying for a pre-med major)
UNC-CH: In
Duke: Mid reach (it is for everyone…)
Vanderbilt: Match
William and Mary: In
UChicago: Mid Reach
Northwestern: Low reach
Georgetown SFS: Mid Reach (so unpredictable…one of my friends got deferred EA and she was the most qualified applicant I’ve seen, and another friend got in RD the year previous and he almost went to jail for stealing)

Everything looks solid, so I’d say a good shot everywhere. Just make sure you don’t apply to any schools like UPenn or Rice that don’t have scorechoice and will require you to submit that SAT score. Good luck!

Thanks! Any more?

BUMP10char

bumpity humpity bump

seriously. anyone. anytime.

bumpppppppppp

i will chance back…

a match for northwestern, u chicago, and william and mary, uva and unc chapel hill are a crap shoot for anyone out of state, but you seem to be a strong candidate. vanderbilt match, john hopkins high match, and duke its a reach for everyone… but you’re definitely an extremely strong candidate. please chance back!

uva: match
wm: in
uchicago: reach (a really good friend of mine with a 2320 and 9 APs, reasonably respectable ECs was waitlisted…so i am not sure)
Northwestern: reach
JHU: reach (again a lot of people i know get rejected from here despite good stats)
Duke: high reach (gpa might be the factor)
vandy: match-in (i think you have a good chance…trust me…so far 7 of my friends go there with stats not even close to yours…your in a good shape)
georgetown: high match
unc-ch: in

again gpa might bite you a bit…otherwise everything looks solid…good job!

bump. gpa still volatile, might pull off an A. school has grade deflation. a kid this year who got in ea to chicago had 2260 sat, less rigor in sched (5 ap’s at end of junior year), and crap ECs.

Someone rank 12 got in ED to duke…even though that’s easier. will it helped that i volunteered there at all?

please post a link and i’ll chance, otherwise give till tmrw since im using an itouch! :)

any more?

non-med to jhu btdubbs
