Good shot. Not great, but good. What's your rank?

The GPA and SATs sound more like my son's classmates who got in on regular admission than those who got early acceptance. Your courses themselves are fine. Knock yourself out on the essays and try to get teachers who care enough about you to give well written recommendation letters. GOOD LUCK and if you get in you may be able to skip language by passing the on line Spanish test.

My school does not rank, but i should be in the top 10% of a 700 person class. Does anyone have any advice about the essays especially the one that is entirely your choice? Also, I should get absolutely amazing teacher rec's. Does UVa care about your AP exam scores in terms of admission? I got 5's in US history and Psych as well as a 4 in Lang/Comp.

Take a look at the other thread in this forum about safety, match, reach because your stats look as good or better than the one who got admitted.
Sorry that I do not have a clue as to the answers to your other questions, my knowledge of UVA admissions is limited to what got my son in : 800 verbal SAT - 4.3 GPA, ECs, clever essays (at least I thought so when I proof read them for not exceeding the sarcasm/smart-A meter) . Good Luck and read all the threads here, even the ones from last year's forum to get clues from those who actually know something.

try to get the math sat a little higher. other than that I think you have a great shot.

ernie, i think you've got a good chance. Bring up that math and writing sat score a little and you'll be fine. is your junior year gpa weighted or unweighted? and isn't ap comparative government and ap government one class? did you maybe mean to say comparative religions?

ap comparitive and ap us government are indeed one class which I am taking and my junior GPA is weighted, unweighted it would be a 3.78. May I inquire as to how you know my name? I do not recall giving it. I am guessing you know me from school.
