Chances for Vanderbilt ED?

Hi! I’m applying ED to Vanderbilt this year and I’m worried that some of my standardized test scores/AP scores are going to keep me from getting in. I go to a small and competitive private school.

GPA UW: 3.89 W: 4.3
SAT: 1530 (780 Math/750 CR)

SAT IIs: (I may not send any of these)
Math 1: 700
Biology M: 770
US History: 710

Current APs:
Calculus BC
English Literature and Composition
European History
Chemistry

Past APs
Calculus AB (5)
Language and Composition (5)
Biology (4)
US History (4)

Member of NHS, SNHS, Student Government, Volunteer 6hrs/week with a program for disabled children as a TA. Had a couple summer jobs, member of several clubs.

LOR: I think they should be pretty good I’m close with my guidance counselor and I’ll get one from an english teacher and a math teacher since I had them both for 2 years.

I’m thinking of applying ED since I know I would go if I got in, but I think my grades/scores/ecs might not be enough.

Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks!

I forgot to mention I was on Mock Trial for 3 years 2 as a witness, 1 as a lawyer.

A 1530 SAT is solid, AP scores are fine. I probably would only send the bio SATII though. Grades seem good as long as your class rank is alright (although if you’re coming from a competitive high school you’ll get some leeway). ECs seem a little bit sparse.

I would say you have a shot, but you’re by no means a lock or anything. Just concentrate on making sure your recs/essays are as good as they can be, and you definitely have a chance.

If you like or stand to benefit from Vandy’s financial aid no loans package and you like Vandy more than other privates, I would def go ED and send in your Bio score. you are obviously a lock on honors at your state flagships. Your scores are just fine and are no longer in your control. Focus on the quality of your essays and the personalization of your letters of reference. Use your talent to be shrewd in your application choices with high matches, reaches and matches and always keep the eye on the long term financial plan
