<p>Rigorous courseload, but not terrible.</p>

<p>Will have taken 5 APs by the end of senior year: Chemistry (5), Music Theory (4), Biology, Physics B, Economics (Micro and macro)</p>

<p>Top 10% of very good public HS in NJ. Class size is about 460 at a very good public HS in NJ.</p>

<p>Vanderbilt is probably a mid reach for you. How good are you at xc? Have you tried contacting the coach to see if you might get academic support? (The men’s team is pretty bad.) Besides that, your ECs seem pretty good throughout. I might recommend ED as I think that would provide strength to your application, but obviously not if Vandy isn’t your top choice, or for financial reasons.</p>

<p>For cross country im OK but definitely nothing special. And the reason im not applying ED is because of the money. Vanderbilt is very expensive.</p>

<p>It’s a reach, especially with that 590 CR score; I’d advise you retake the SAT and shoot for 700+ on each section. </p>

<p>I’d say it’s a mid reach. 5 AP’s doesn’t make for a particularly impressive looking course load, and I think you’d benefit from retaking the SAT. There’s time to up the quality of your recommendations and essay. Good luck!!
