Chances for VaTech, GaTech, UVa, Maryland, Rensselaer

Not a state resident of any of the schools listed.

Considering ED and EA options.

SAT: 700M, 660R, 660W
GPA: 3.915 (unweighted); 4.45 (weighted)
SAT 2 (Math 1): 710
AP Calculus: 5
Female
Debate, Mu Alpha Theta (VP), literary magazine, National Honor Society, other non-academic clubs, Sunday school teacher's aid (4 years), Summer engineering programs and business programs (Brown, Brandeis).

VTech: match, reach if you’re planning to major in engineering- your SAT is on the low side.
UVA: high match/low reach, again because of your low SAT. You should apply EA. Also, UVA has a holistic approach when it comes to admissions, so be sure to have great recs and a great essay.

Your ECs are solid. Be sure to indicate whether you have leadership positions if you do.
Is AP Calc (great score btw) the only AP you’ve taken? Or is it the only one you want to send?
Also, the fact that you took the Math I SAT II and got a 710 looks awful. You should be getting an 800 on that… it’s even bad to have a 710 on the Math II.

Unfortunately, idk about the other colleges you listed, but I think you’re a fairly competitive applicant. Good luck!

UVA is a slight reach but the others are good matches. Chance me back please?

Gtech –> Reach as you are OOS unless your ECs are great.

Virginia Tech- Match even tho your math score is low for engineering but your AP Cal score should make up for it C:
GaTech- High Match
Rensselaer- High Match
UVA - Reach
Maryland- Low match

Mind chancing me back?

UMD - LAS -Match, COE - Reach

GA tech and uva- reaches.
the rest are matches. GAtech is getting significantly harder by the year. it’s acceptance dropped from like 60 somethin to 32 percent in the last 3 years. i reckon it will drop to somewhere in the high 20’s when we are applying.
