Chances for Villanova, Boston College, or Georgetown

OBJECTIVE:

TESTING
• SAT: 2090, CR + Math 1360. Math 640 (Low - studying for June and hope this will go up to around 680), CR 720, Writing 730.
• SAT II: Taking Math II, English, and History in May
• AP exams: Taking English and US History soon, I will get a 5 on the English exam and not below a 4 on history.

GRADES
• GPA:
-Unweighted: Freshman and sophomore years average to 4.0, junior year will be 3.9 or 4.0 if I can get math to an A.
-Weighted: Freshman 4.25, Sophomore 4.6, Junior 4.6 or 4.7

CLASSES
• APs:
-Junior year: AP US history (B+), AP English language (A)
-Senior year: AP government, AP English literature, AP statistics, AP Spanish
• Other noteworthy things:
-All of my other core classes have been honors, 4 years of core subjects
-I will have had three years of Latin and five of Spanish
-Art class freshman and senior years

SUBJECTIVE:

ACADEMIC AWARDS
• Grade 9: Achievement in Global History Honors
• Grade 10: Achievement in Spanish 3, Achievement in English Honors, Excellence in Biology
• Magna Cum Laude in National Latin Exam
• Grade 11: School has not given out academic awards yet, Magna Cum Laude in National Latin Exam
*The way the academic awards work in my school are that each teacher gives three students achievement in the subject and one student excellence out of all their classes, so they’re not that big of a deal but still there.

EXTRA CURRICULAR
• Cross Country and Track for two seasons a year
• Interact Club (raises money for international charity causes)
• Piano lessons for 4 years, I might also pick up the guitar soon
• Art lessons on and off for 7 years both in and out of schools – this is my real area of passion
• National Charity League for 4 years (about 25 hours of community service per year)
-Treasurer junior year
-Will be Corresponding Secretary senior year
• Regular babysitting
• Consistent summer job as Arts & Crafts counselor at a tennis camp for 2 years
• Collegiate summer program at a college last summer where I took college courses
• Spanish immersion program at my school the summer before which I took to skip Spanish 2
*I did not apply to National Honor Society so I don’t know if that will adversely affect me in any way.

OTHER
I am a fairly strong writer so my essay shouldn’t adversely affect me, I also think I can get strong recommendations from my English teacher and Latin teacher of two years

COLLEGES:

The main schools I am interested in are Boston College, Villanova, and Georgetown, so what kind of chance do you think I have for those? The reason I ask is because although my numbers seem to be compatible I have heard mixed things as to whether they would be reaches, comfortable matches, or even fairly safe for me.
The other schools I'm interested in that would likely be safe are Providence and Fordham. Also, I'm clearly going in the Liberal arts, I would probably major in English with a minor in another language.
Also, is there anything else I should be doing and any other schools I might look at?

Thank you so much for reading! And I'm sorry for the repeat, I meant to go back and edit the format on the original one since I typed the whole thing on an iphone haha, I didnt realize I wouldn't be able to do that after a certain amount of time.

I think you have excellent chances at Providence, Fordham and Nova. Good chances at BC. Reach for Georgetown. Best of luck!

Thanks =) Anyone else?

Some other ones I guess I should mention are Notre Dame, William and Mary… any input?

bump…

BC is a match
georgetown is a bit of a reach.

I would be surprised if you didnt get into BC.

^BC is probably the second most competitive on that list.

I got into BC, and Nova, but not Gtown.

I have a 4.0, 7th in class of over 300. My SATs were a bit higher (Math of 670 was also my weak link), had the same AP’s, got 5’s. Extra curriculars were more or less the same, replace your sports with soccer and lax. I was real involved in local community and global humanitarian activism, so that was probably a strong point for me.

Your resume seems comparable to mine, so if I were a betting man, I’d say you get into BC and Nova, but unfortunately, not Gtown.

You should get into BC but Georgetown is a reach, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try of course!

That makes sense :). I think BC is my top choice as of now though of course I still have more research to do, I’m glad it’s attainable though. I guess Georgetown is a good one to have as my one school that’s really a stretch.
