...as a side note, if I raise my ACT score, would I have ANY chance at all for the Villanova Presidental Scholarship?

…bump?

This is sad… where is everyone?

I’ll take a guess on your chances.Villanova has been very proactive to recruit minorities and that will boost your chances.
Based on your ACT score and gpa and the fact that you are AA , I would guess that you are in.Remember that VSB is highly competitive and you are not a slam dunk.
You would be more likely to get accepted for Arts & Sciences than VSB.
As for the Presidential Scholarship , I would think you are not a strong candidate.

From Villanova web site: " The average weighted high school grade point average of candidates selected as finalists for the Presidential Scholarship in the Fall 2009 entering freshman class was 4.23 (on a 4.00 scale) and the average combined SAT score (Critical Reading and Math) was 1460 with ACT scores that were similar in competitiveness.

Each year, a number of historically underrepresented students who have demonstrated leadership in their ability to make significant contributions to the academic and social cultures within their schools and communities are awarded Presidential Scholarships"

Do not submit your SAT , your ACT is much stronger.
Good luck!

Thank you. By any chance, do you know if Villanova’s Computer Science major is any good? If I applied to the college of arts and sciences, I would probably apply to that major. But I’ve heard that it wasn’t very reputable.

I don’t know anything about Villanova Computer Science Department, but it is one of the smallest majors at Villanova.

“On August 21, 2009, the Villanova Computer Science Department welcomed the new freshmen students. This class is comprised of twenty men and seven women.”

Interestingly enough it is one of the few majors that have to be declared upon entering in Arts and sciences.I don’t know if you apply specifically to the major.

"Students in Astronomy, Astrophysics, Biology, Chemistry, Comprehensive Science, Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics enter into the College as a declared major; however, most students begin their academic career as an Undeclared Arts major. These students need not declare/change their major until the end of the sophomore year. "

If you are looking at the department , I would visit and contact the department.I would not go by what you may have heard.Do your research.Good luck.
