Congrats on your hard work and success! It’s very hard to really chance someone, but it seems like you would be a competitive applicant. I suggest, though, you try to arrange an interview during your visit. Wake considers the interview in the application review process. If that doesn’t work, or you prefer to wait, you can try to come back in the fall. Interviews book fairly early, and all spots were filled pretty far in advance of the late fall cutoff to interview. I’ll note also that Wake took a higher % of its incoming class in ED and suggested that this might be a trend. Good luck!
Yes, the school does lots of the interviews via skype. Just find a comfortable place and treat it as a friendly conversation, which is what it is. Don’t hesitate to ask any questions you might have, particularly ones where the answer is not readily available online. It is a great opportunity to do that. If possible, if you enjoy your visit in the summer, you might try to get back in the fall. It is helpful to see schools with the students in attendance. I know from experience that that is not always possible. Again, try to book well in advance. I believe the spots filled a few weeks before the end of the interview season the last couple of years.
I think you have a very good chance. Applying ED would improve your chances, but you would have to be 100% sure that WFU is your #1 choice and that you can afford it.
I will be touring in July and we will be able to afford it. if I really love it I will try to apply ED. Would you recommend ED1 or ED2? ED2 would give me more time but is ED1 slightly better chances.
I’d recommend ED1 if you are sure about the school and it is affordable. ED2 would only give you an additional month, I think. ED2 is, if anything, a more competitive pool than ED1. But ED2 is certainly fine. In the end, though, it depends on your personal circumstances. You would certainly get an outstanding education at Wake. The school has a really impressive leadership team in place and a great dynamic. Good luck!
