Chances for Wake forest/UNC?

I'm a junoir in north carolina looking at wake forest and UNC. My gpa is about 3.75UW, top 10% of class, SAT is 1940 (670m, 610cr, 660w) first try (im taking it again in April.) I'm taking Calc AB AP, Bio 2 AP, and Psych AP and the rest are honors classes. Im part of a bunch of various clubs in my school, but my main EC is swimming, which i do competitively year-round. Im not good enough for a scholarship or anything, but i am captain of my school team and could most likely swim in college. The sport takes up most of my time, so I dont really have time for many other EC's. Ive done alot of volunteer work over the summer, but im not sure if that helps. What do you guys think my chances are?

You're in at both if you can raise those SATs even a bit (above 2100 would be a lock, above 2000 would be good too).

Great chances and good luck!

As you stand now, Wake Forest is a solid reach and UNC-Chapel Hill is a little bit of a reach.

wake sucks

Did you get rejected or something bignerd43?
Wake cares about interest. Visit, interview, etc. Try to get your SAT's into the 1300s for both assuming you are instate (if you are OOS you'll need a 1400+ probably). I'm going there next year and if you have any questions PM me :) good luck!

thanks guys. I am instate, and i plan to visit once or twice because i live really close to the school.

You have a good chance at UNC, Wake is a reach. Honestly though UNC in-state is one of the best deals out there, no way I'd choose it over wake or any school outside the top 20 or so for that matter.

Apply EA to UNC, and you're probably in. Wake has become more selective, but you stand a good chance there too. You also might consider applying to Davidson.

slipper, I wouldn't say that holds true in all cases. Private schools (as you should know lol) have deeper pockets than publics, and Duke and Wake were able to offer me enough money to make UNC by far the most expensive of the three. Many of the private schools in NC have tons of scholarships for in-state residents, so UNC is NOT always the best option.

Lol, that is totally true. I wasn't thinking of aid...

What happened, bignerd, your "research" did not work out at NYU? Too bad.
What ever happened with JHU? That did not work out either? HMMMMMMMM

Im really just trying to get into one of these schools, so aid is somethin ill deal with later.
