I'm a Caucasian male. I come from an extremely diverse area, I'm actually a minority at my high school (not sure if that helps).
ECS: Class president. DECA (state champ, nationally ranked, and vice-president). NHS president. Varsity soccer (head captain, MVP, and conference champs). Varsity tennis (head captain, number 1 singles, and conference champs). Multiple volunteer programs. School newspaper sports reporter. Camp counselor and youngest person to ever be a director in 100 years, theres a few more, I filled up all 10.
Essays are pretty strong, I've been told they're amazing (by my parents and a teacher) but I have nothing to compare them to so I'm just going to say they probably won't carry me or hurt me.
I applied ED to WashU and was deferred and then received 3 big awards, and went from 5th in my class to 3rd (I sent WashU a letter keeping them updated). My brother also went to WashU and graduated near the top of his class.

I think they are both low reaches. Very plausible. It also depends on what major your applied for. I think business is the most competitive at Emory and the sciences are the most competitive at WashU. You are an ideal candidate, the issue is that there are thousands of applicants with similar stats. Hope for the best. Good luck!
