<p>This actually isn't me, but is for a friend who really likes WF:</p>
<p>SAT: 1600/2400
GPA: top 50 percent
Race: African American</p>
<p>Sports: really good at soccer</p>
<p>SAT scores are a little low…but then again, they changed admission during my senior year so that SAT scores are optional…I need to know his GPA. Top 50% doesn’t just cut it…if it’s weighted, it needs to be above 4.0. If unweighted, at least 3.75 is a safe bet. Since the school made SAT scores optional, there’s more emphasis put on GPA. Interviews are optional, but it would help out a lot if you can impress them personally. Diversity is low on campus, so being African American gives him an edge. If he’s not a recruited soccer player for Wake, it doesn’t matter that he’s good at soccer. He needs excellent extra curricular activities and an impressive personal statement.</p>
<p>I can’t figure out how to make my own post, so I’m hoping someone can help me out here. I just applied ED to Wake. My GPA is low unweighted, around a 3.4-3.5, but I took very hard classes (all honors and APs) at a very good High School, and weighted, it is about a 4.23. My SATS are about a 1960 and ACTs a 29. I was a 4 year varsity soccer player and captain of my team and I have one many awards for soccer, and spent time on it year round. I have good community service and other extracurriculars. I have a job that I work year round, which I feel is probably important. I also have a sister who attended Wake and did extremely well there. I did go for an interview all the way from Boston, which I felt went really well. What’s the chances look like?</p>
