Chances for WFU

Hey everybody, sorry if my question is entirely redundant, bear with me:)
My first choice is Wake Forest, but my "dream" school is BC. I've already applied to U of Miami, Texas Christ., SMU. I plan to apply to U of Richmond. Whta do you guys think? (Especially about Wake and BC) I love Boston and everything, but my scores don't fit perfectly. It's a dream, but hopefully not an impossible one

I go to a Catholic college prep school in Columbus Ohio, ranked among the top 5% in the US.

I have a 3.6 Accum weighted (Don't know what it is unweighted)
My classes are -

English - AP English Lit./Comp., AP English Lang., Fr and So. English
Math - Algebra I/II (Trig), Hs. Geom., PreCalc AB (basically first sem. of college Calc. I)
Hist. - American Hist, Economics, Government, World Hist.
Science - Intro. to phys./chem., Biology, HS Chem., HS Physics, AP Bio
Lang. - Latin I/II, Spanish I/II, French I/II
Religion - Fr., So., Jr (Morality), Sr. (Comparative Religion)

I consistently get B/B+ grades, but my grades are significantly deflated because of my curriculum. We lose roughly 50% of our class after Fr. yr., most of whom earn 4.0+ at other parochial/public schools. Our Regular level classes are similar to HS classes elsewhere, our HS classes AP, and our AP college courses. My English Lit. is the same Soph. class they teach at kenyon, and my Bio the same So. class at Miami of Ohio. We send at least half of our class to OSU, (which is pretty good, I think)

Acivities -
Tennis - 2nd singles, MVP, Captain, 1st team all league
St. Vincent de Paul volunteer this summer
Appalachia service trip (Environmental camp)
Altar Serving
National Honor Society
School language tutor
I teach myself foreign languages - I speak Spanish, English, Japanese, Italian, and French fluently
Church newspaper
Helped begin and run a Pancreatic Tennis Tournament
Various walks, other charities
Etc. - Though I don't have a TON of activities, I spend a lot of time on the ones I have

Scores -
AP English Lang. - 5
SATI - - - - 680 580 710 = 1970, but I just took them again, and I think I got around a 710 630 740 (2080)
No ACT

ETC -
I am a WFU legacy; my dad went to medical school there and is a contributor
I am applying ED to Wake, EA to Miami, TCU, SMU
I interviewed with SMU (They send me stuff to the point of irritation!)
I have visited WFU, Richmond, TCU, SMU, BC (others too)
Unique, memorable essays about the effects of my diversity
I am 1/4 Japanese (Does that qualify as a minority?)

I really hope things pan out; WF is my TOP school; I loved the place the second I stepped foot on it. Does anyone have tips for applying? Tips for nervousess?
Thank you all for your patience and help, I really really appreciate it

TJM

You are a Match for Wake Forest (as long as you mention your father as a legacy), Match to Slight Reach for Boston College and Safe Match to Match for all the others on your list.

No, Japanese (Asian) does not count as a URM.

Best of luck. (and WF is a beautiful school from what everyone tells me, although it is one of the few colleges I discuss here that I haven't visited personally).

Thank you CalCruzer, I really appreciate your opinion. WF has a beautiful campus. it's failry small, but compact (which I like bec. it's easy to commute) It's got the southern thing going, lots of Magnolia trees, Georgian architecture, etc. Quite nice.
Nice to hear some hope for BC, it's a long shot, but hopefully WF will work. If it does, it's game over, since their ED is binding.

Thanks again!!!

Also, I was meaning to ask if the legacy thing really is that important. I know it seems kind of pointless to ask, but I was curious if anyone knew the actual statistics for it (I once heard it was 67%)

Might want to look at Holy Cross-Top30 LAC which is 1 hour from Boston. Like Boston College, Holy Cross is a Jesuit school. HC has very strong alumni network and is SAT optional. Holy Cross offers great combination of academics and athletics with school spirit.

I looked (and like) Holy Cross par, but I don't think it has a UG bus. program, which will be my major.

TAce77 Holy Cross has a pre-business track and it does have accounting and economics, but not a business major per se. I believe that the liberal arts are the best preparation for a business career and certainly a great foundation for business school should you plan to get an MBA after college.

I went to Holy Cross and majored in mathematics and got into Michigan which is generally considered a top ten MBA program.

Anybosy else? thanks, BTW, innocent...
