Open to comments...

(Feel free to ask for more stuff...)

...Also thinking about Michigan, Cornell, Notre Dame...but interested in Penn the most...lol...
Am I aiming too high?
Suggetsions perhaps?

Bump...more views than posts apparently...

Bump bump...probably should let this sit....

P.S. I meant along the 4.0 scale...I really don't know how you guys calculate GPA...

UPenn is a high reach. I don't see any problems with you applying to top tier schools, but choose schools over the entire spectrum; a mix of reaches, targets and safeties is ideal.

chance me back?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/585610-chances-so-so-sat-scores-top-schools.html

Such as...?

I'm really not in a position to suggest schools for you, as you alone know your idiosyncrasies. Tell me about what college experience your after (strong undergrad program, prestige etc.)

Definitely prestiage, but a strong undergrand program is nice...
I suppose of Upenn doesn't work out, I'll probably just aim for the UK...
Still, thanks for the suggestion. Maybe I'll look into other schools...

are you interested in a liberal arts education? Check out Middlebury, Bowdoin, Bates etc.
Also check out BC,BU, Tufts, (i'm partial to schools in MA) and NYU

You've been to Beijing for MUN? Any chance it was held at/hosted by the International School of Beijing?

Your SAT I and IIs are a little weak for wharton, and most kids who apply there take math II. Your ECs are decent/strong cause you have a lot of leadership.
Wharton is at least a low reach for you, IMO.

I think it was, actually...a fun conference, that.

Hmmm, I see...thanks for your input...

bump..........

bump..........

bump...............

wow...lots of views.....

wow, its been a while. Went ahead and applied ED anyway...

I think you have a decent change, interesting background, decent EC's.. Your SAT's aren't that bad, especially not for an URM.. I would indeed try for the UK as well, since they, of course, don't require the SATs. Oxbridge is certainly a reachable goal for you (you have to be quick with applying though!) Is English your first language btw?

Penn - High Reach
Cornell - Reach
Notre Dame - In
UMich - In

You have an interesting story - be sure to tell it. Work on those SAT scores though! They're the only thing holding you back :)

I've heard good things about Oxbridge, I may just look them up, thanks.

I've decided against retaking the SAT, its too much of a roller-coaster for my family and myself. Plus this is $70 or so dollars we keep shelling out to 'try' again, in the midst of IB Mock season. Sadly, it just isn't looking possible.

Still, thanks alot for your comments. I'll definitely look at Cornell if Upenn is a bust...I can always fall back on Notre Dame...thanks.

Just for reference, how about University of Chicago?

Are you good at essay writing? If so, then yes!

You look like you'd have an okay chance at UChicago.
