I agree that you have an interesting background that should interest schools, but Wharton is probably the most by the numbers programs out there. The program is very quantitative and you need very strong math skills to do well. A 700 on the MathI will make it very difficult. In the 20 plus years I've interviewed for the school, I don't recall another applicant who even submitted mathI. I would recommend retaking all SATs for any real chance.

Yeah thanks, that was a bad error on my part. Thankfully Wharton will accept rushed November SAT II scores, so I'll have the chance to rectify the situation. I'm now going to take French with Listening, Biology M, and Math II. I'm going to get higher in French and a good score in Math, but I don't know about Biology...I doubt Wharton cares too much...

I've had my essays reviewed by two IB HL english teachers, my college counselor, an international relations teacher, and my parents. They loved them...if you its helpful, I could post copies...its not like I can edit them anyway, but maybe it'll give you guys an easier time?

As for numbers, if Wharton cares at all for the IB system, I have a 6 in IB Math HL, which is, in my and my schools opinion at least, a particularly high score. Even then, hopefully I can rectify that by this new SAT II...is the Math II test actually easier? (To score high, grade-curve wise I mean)

Once again, SAT I is not an option, but I will redo SAT II.

Thanks again for the help

bump.............

bump.............

bumpity bump bump....

Damn...too late for Oxbridge...

Upenn is a slight reach. I know a kid who got in to Wharton, he had a perfect sat score, and went to a nationally ranked high school, he also had good ECs. You have a chance, if you're essays are good.

Wow, that's seriously impressive...

Well, I guess a chance is better than no chance. I did put some effort into my essays, maybe that'll help me out some.

To be specific, I applied to the Hunstman Program and then Wharton, but I wouldn't mind either actually. Considering the Hunstman program rejects 80% of all applicants, I think it's safe to say I'm applying to Wharton...heh...

And another thing, how do you guys do so well on the SAT? I have two books, but my score barely improved 30 points between the two tests...am I naturally stupid, or am I going the wrong way?

Also, how about an online course/physical tutor. Would that work better do you think?

Maybe if they defer me, I could retake the SAT and help out my application some, I don't know...I guess I'm just reaching now...

bumpity bump bump....

Well...I got Deferred...

It's better than an outright rejection I suppose...still, rather disappointing. I know, I know, its great and all, but nothing feels quite as bad as reading 'March 31st'...its like having the end of a supsense thriller cut off the reel....ugh.

Anyway, I'm starting some new applications. Anyone want to chance me for:
-Stanford
-Notre Dame
-Cornell
-UChicago
-UMichigan

P.S. I was thinking about retaking the January SATs...any ideas if colleges will still look at those?

Updated SAT IIs:
French w/ Listening : 580 (Haaaaaaaaahahaha...)
Math II: 760
Bio M: 700

What are your original SATI scores?

With a deferral at Wharton, ND and Michigan are highly likely and Cornell a fair bet.

I was born in GHANA! lol

Michigan IN, Stanford Very High Reach, Cornell and U Chicago, you have a good shot.

-Stanford - High reach
-Notre Dame - Good Shot
-Cornell - Low Reach
-UChicago - Mid Reach
-UMichigan - Good Shot

stanford-high reach
notre dame-in
cornell-low reach
uchicago-low reach
umichigan-in

Original SAT I scores are on the first page, but anyway:

SATI: 2010 (660, 690, 660)

Wow, Stanford looks like a killer. Any way I could improve my chances? (SATs, GPA, etc?)
I'd just like to know in what context its a 'very high reach' :P

BTW, I've been reading a few boards, and, to my shock and dismay, it seemed like the people who got reaaaaaaaally high SAT scores, i.e 2300+ or 2200+ are getting REJECTED while the people lower are getted accepted/deferred! Anyone else notice this?

Maybe retaking the SAT might not be the best idea...

(Thanks all, btw)

Just an aside:

Any hints on programs to get a higher SAT score? Preferably online. I'm thinking about trying the Collegeboard one...

Help would be appreciated :)

bump bump bump

Hey,

-Stanford - high reach with the current SAT scores
-Notre Dame - IN
-Cornell - Reach
-UChicago - Match
-UMichigan - IN

GOOD LUCK!
Chance back please!
