Chances for Wharton?

I'm currently a grade 11 student in Ontario, Canada.
My ultimate goal is to apply to Wharton early decision later in November this year.
Virtually no one's applying to US colleges in my school, so I have no way to compare my extracurriculars or SAT results. I'm posting to see where I stand.
BTW my records aren't that great... Wharton's like my ULTIMATE HOPEFUL goal

SAT Reasong:
750 - Math
750 - Critical Reading
800 - Writing
Total : 2300

SAT Subject:
800 - Math IIC
780 - World History
770 - Chemistry

AP:
5 - AP Calculus BC
5 - AP Macroeconomics
4 - AP Microeconomics

**Scheduled to take AP English and MAYBE AP Chemistry next year

GPA (REALLY BAD):
In Canada, we don't have gpa's like in US high schools..
My percent average is 88....... -_- I know
There's around 300 people in my grade, I'm guessing I'm at least in the top 20% HOPEFULLY

Extra Curriculars:
2008 ~ 2010 - Grade representative (gr. 9 and 10)
2010 ~ 2011 - School council treasurer
2011 ~ 2012 - School council president (present)

2006 ~ 2009 - York Youth Symphony Orchestra 2nd Violin Principal
2009 ~ 2010 - Church orchestra concertmaster
2010 ~ 2011 - Charity orchestra (Northern Foundation Boreal Orchestra) Member

200+ hours of community service hours
Constant opinion contributor to award winning school newspaper

Just some more facts:
I WILL be applying for financial aid (my family has no way of paying all of that US tuition)
I'm an Asian-Canadian (Chinese)

SOO I know my records aren't that great or outstanding...
But anyone, please let me know my chances!
AND please comment on my chances for other IVY League schools as well, those that I might be able to get into.

well, that gpa is around a 3.5 i belive on a 4.0 scale, that probably keeps you out of any ivy league school. With your sat score, you can still get into a good school, just not an ivy

ahahaha, thanks for the reply!
How bout looking at my whole application though?
You just mentioned GPA, I know that’s lacking… ahhh -_-

Remember, gpa is the most important. Without solid academics it’s not worth looking at other things. either way, the ECs don’t make up for the lower class rank/gpa. also you’re asian and applying for financial aid which are two things that might work against you applying to all schools.

ahahah, thanks for the reply!
Ahhh I know… GPA ahahah -_-
I thought I could cover it up a bit with my SAT’s… I dunno
What do you think about colleges like Georgetown, NYU… maybe even Cornell? ahahah

As the Canadian myself I think our GPAs might be assessed differently. Personally, at my school, people with averages over 95 are virtually unheard of - additionally, in most parts of Canada, an 80+ is an “A”, 70-79 is a “B”, etc, whereas an “A” is 90+ in the US and a “B” is in the 80’s.

A guy I knew who got into Cornell at my school had AT MOST a low 90 average and scored a 2320 on the SAT, and also didn’t really have many super outstanding ECs. In closing, don’t worry too much about that GPA as it doesn’t directly correlate to the US system.

With that being said, your ECs seem fair, so as long as you write some decent essays, Wharton is probably a mid-high reach.

By the way, are you in York Region by any chance? Just wondering.

Chance me back?
