Chances for Wharton? :)

I think your case is extremely unique! You’re obviously a very smart kid put in a difficult situation in terms of finding yourself opportunities. I have no doubt that if you lived in the US you’d have some more ECs and such. But do note that colleges will know that about your situation. I do encourage you to apply to Huntsman (I was considering it as well but I only speak 2 languages). You have as good a shot as anyone and I’m sure Wharton would be interested in a kid with a very interesting cultural background such as yourself.

Now for my two cents of advice: Wharton offers you the opportunity to apply EITHER to the College of Arts and Sciences OR to Wharton if you are rejected by Huntsman (which is a dual school program). I highly suggest - if you’re interested in international business - that you apply to the College of Arts and Sciences and pursue an economics degree while either minoring or double majoring in poly sci, international relations, or a foreign language. I met someone who did the same, landed a job with the government going to various nations to speak business and world economy, and then he got a job with a public company for international business.

Huntsman: reach
Wharton: high reach
CAS: low reach

Oh thanks a lot for your feedback!! That would be interesting too… and regarding your acquaintance that’s so cool!!
Btw so I can pursue an economics degree in CAS??

Yes the economics degree in Penn (and most schools in the US) is contained in the School of Arts and Sciences (or its equivalent in other schools)

oohhh!! thank youu :)

You don’t have to know multiple languages to be a strong candidate for Huntsman, but if that’s a program you’re very passionate about, make sure you write an amazing essay for it. I think you’d have a great shot.

oh thanks for the feedback!

LOL…algorithm?

Good luck OP. Don’t know enough about Wharton to chance, but this post made me smile.

hahaha lol :P

bummpppp :)

Your volunteering is awesome. But what makes you tick? What is your passion? Find it and play it up!

thank youuu :)

bummpppppp

btw if you could chance me for Harvard, Cornell, NYU, Georgia Tech, it would be great!!

Current Huntsman student here, Shruthinr, I think you are a very unique applicant, being Indian and having grown up in Mexico, you are clearly a multicultural individual. When applying to Huntsman, language is by far the most important factor, however you have to show that you have a personal connection with each language you speak, let them know that languages have taught you more than words. I can help you throughout the admissions process if you’d like, if you need my email let me know

omg!! I just saw your comment!! that would be great!! thanks a lot :)
