Thanks for the help. If I’m pretty sure that Wharton is my number one choice, would it make sense to apply ED?

If it is your first choice and money is not a concern, definitely apply ED. Your stats are pretty close to the average Penn applicant, so ED will definitely give you a leg up.

"If it is your first choice and money is not a concern"

Just wondering, what if money is a concern, surely Penn is not going to give you a bad financial aid package and as a result make you withdrawn from it b/c you can't pay?

Well, it is currently my first choice but money is definately a concern. Family income of right around $60,000. I need a lot of financial aid or I'm looking at Michigan as my only possibility.

Should I still go ED or just go regular?

I was under the impression that UPENN accommodates 100% of need, stated on their website. I'm think they will certainly give you enough so you can go there without having to starve... if Wharton is your top choice then definately ED.

A 100% of need can be made with loans as well. The thing is by applying ED you lose bargaining power. If you apply RD you get to show off other packages from other schools thus making Penn match their aid. By applying ED you give up that opportunity. Its pretty much a decision you have to make.

Well in terms of what people who have been given aid packages in the past, is Penn pretty good at making a majority of the aid grants or will I be stuck with a large amount of loans?

If Penn takes the fact that I'm applying ED as a chance to stick me with mostly loans, I'm going to have to wait it out for RD. In that case, would my chances be severly effected?
