Hey guys, so I'm a freshman at GMU, and I got a 3.8 GPA at the end of high school (the average GPA accepted was 4.2 from my school), but for my first semester I got a 4.0. I helped find two clubs on campus, stay active athletically, and I work two part time jobs. Do you guys think I have a chance to transfer in for the fall of 2011?

Bump…I also got a 30 on my ACT if that helps

I think you have a decent chance, depending on how WM looks at freshman transfers. A lot of schools look for students who are not rushing the transfer process, and who have shown over the course of several semesters that they can do well. Your high school record will help you, I just don’t know how much, since you weren’t accepted straight out of high school.

Their advisors told me that being a freshman provides no disadvantage, but they place a little more focus on my hschool transcript than if I were a sophomore. All in all, it seems like a pretty transfer friendly school
