Work Experience: Church Pianist for a little less than 4 months =]

Other?: I played piano for 10 years and won dozens of local competitions. I think I'll send in a CD of me playing to showcase this. Does anyone have any suggestions for the difficulty/length/number of songs to perform? I mean, it's not as if I'm applying to major in piano - simply to enhance my application :D

Also, I've won a lot of little awards, but I don't know if I should/where to include them. What kinds of stuff do I look weak in? What should I spotlight more? How do I accentuate what I have?

Any suggestions at all will do beautifully! :D

OH.
Schools I'm applying to as of now:
Yale
Harvard
Rensselaer
Princeton
Rice

If you are truly a registered Native American, then I would say you have very good chances at the schools you’ve listed (although you should still have some safety schools–perhaps you will also apply to UT?).

Yes, haha, I’m looking into narrowing down some safeties in these next couple weeks =]]

OH ONE MORE THING!
I’m number 3/354.

Bump please?
DO feel free to offer any and all advice whatsoever!
All will be appreciated!
:D

URM status helps a bunch…

You’re in. Enough said lol

( Don’t apply to RPI, it stinks, trust me.)

URM?
I’m sorry, I’m crazy new at this, what does that mean? ^^;;

@NuclarPakistan1: And really? Awwwh, that’s so sad!
I was looking into that for nuclear engineering, haha!
What do you think about Purdue or perhaps another school?
I’d look into MIT, but I doubt I could afford it XD

under represented minority. basically anyone not white or asian

I live near RPI, and it is located in Troy, NY, but people call it the “troylet” instead lol

Native American? Lucky. Where are you going to apply early?

“I’d look into MIT, but I doubt I could afford it XD”
the top colleges have amazing financial aid, so I don’t think paying would be a problem. It depends what your into though; don’t apply to MIT just for the name…

@Mvingi - I’m actually pretty scared to apply early. That probably sounds silly, but I’ve heard that the early action is a little more selective, and I’m worried that my less-than-ABSOLUTELY-perfect SAT scores will kinda keep them from seeing the rest of my application. Is that a silly worry?

Scrivener - Actually! I’m thinking of either nuclear engineering or neuroscience. So MIT would theoretically be FANTASTIC =]
It’s just so darn intimidating, haha.
But I guess I’ll give it some more attention now! Do more research and whatnot =]

you’re native american. no worries, really. and you have impressive grades and scores. don’t worry about it. otherwise if you’re considering applying early somewhere, i know princeton and harvard don’t have it, and people from my school who apply early get deferred and then get in later, so idk. you have your chances. and yeah, those schools have such large endowments and some only give need - based aid, so as long as you need it, theyll give it to you. good luck :)

chance me please http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/739113-what-my-chances.html

Even without your URM status, you would stand very competitive chances. I know no one can really say this about school that high up, but you’re a shoe-in anywhere.

For Rice the regular acceptance rate is ~23%, and the SCEA acceptance rate is ~35%. (I picked Rice’s ED bc that’s the most dramatic difference). Yale’s is like a 4% difference , but no, it will not hurt you.
