<p>Hi everyone!
I apply at some good schools, but I am not sure what my chances are.
Honestly, I am not so optimistic, but if anyone can help me by telling me how big the chances are, please do it, I would very appreciate that!
gender: female
country: serbia
GPA: 5,00 (unweighted, the maximum is 5,00)
SAT I: reading 640, math 800 & writing 640
SAT II: french 680 & math I 700 (I'm worried most about SATII :/)
TOEFL iBT: 103
EC: 3 years of active volunteering in hospital, 2 years of volunteering in the biggest NGO in my country active in AIDS prevention, 4 years School Parliament- vice president for all 4 years, main organizer of charity social events (concerts of amateur bands, amateur exhibitions and stuff like that), 4 years working in student newspaper (2 years as an editor), 2 years of basketball training, learning Spanish and German outside the school, volunteering in unesco club, 2 years of work in amateur theater, and one year of volunteering in environmental NGO
all together-at least 1000 hours of volunteering work
And I had worked with kids - babysitting and teaching math and chemistry
Honors: Third place at mathematical international competition (9th grade), 4th place at national latin competition (10th grade). In 11th grade I got the private scholarship for summer school in Boston (it was very competitive, only one in the country gets it) (11th grade) and I became a MENSA member (12th grade)
Essays: that should be veeery good, but really very good
recommendations: great (2 from teachers, 1 from counselor, 1 from ppl who gave me scholarship, and one from teacher from summer school)
I am interested in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology or genetics.
I need full financial aid (or almost full)
I want to apply to: princeton, yale, cornell, dartmouth, brandeis, lafayette, macalester, middlebury, carleton & dickinson.
I am worried about my SATs, especially SAT II :(
Do I have ANY chance?</p>
<p>Princeton - High Match
Yale - Mid-Reach
Cornell - Match
Dartmouth - Match
Brandeis - Unfamiliar
Lafayette - Match
Macalester - Unfamiliar
Middlebury - Unfamiliar
Carleton - Unfamiliar
Dickinson - Unfamiliar</p>
<p>I apologize, I don’t know all that much about LACs :(</p>
<p>thanks a lot! :)</p>
<p>Princeton, Yale, Cornell and Dartmouth are all reaches, with Cornell being the most “reachable” of the four.</p>
<p>Carleton will probably also be a reach because, unfortunately, it is not need-blind, and financial aid for international applicants is especially competitive.</p>
<p>Brandeis and Middlebury are probably low reaches (but still possibilities), but I don’t know how their financial aid systems work. Better chances if they are need-blind for internationals.</p>
<p>Lafayette, Macalester, and Dickinson are matches.</p>
<p>You’ve got great strengths in your grades and ECs. Your SAT scores in reading and writing might keep you from your highest reaches, but I predict that you will have a few schools to choose from in the spring.</p>
<p>SlightManifesto is being far too generous.</p>
<p>With your stats + international, Ivies are all (very) high reaches</p>
<p>thanks guys for your help! :)</p>
<p>i thought that everyone would tell me “you are not getting into any of those schools girl, you should better give up”
feel much better now :)</p>
<p>Ivies are highly unpredictable,no one can tell u its a reach for every one, just apply and keep sum safties
Princeton - reach
Yale - Mid-Reach
Cornell - Low reach
Dartmouth - Reach
Brandeis - Unfamiliar
Lafayette - Match
Macalester - Dont knw
Middlebury - match
Carleton - Match
Dickinson - Match
stats are gud Ecs are gud all u need is SAT 1 and SAT 2 BEst of luck </p>
<p>thanks for chance ;)</p>
