Chances for Yale SCEA, Brown, UChicago, Princeton, others?

Hello!
I'm a rising senior and am contemplating an SCEA application to Yale.
However, if I don't have a reasonable shot, I'd rather apply ED to a school where an acceptance is possible - like maybe Brown or Chicago.
So what do you think? All feedback is welcomed. Be ruthless!

THE OTHER STUFF

I'm planning to apply as a philosophy major; I'll graduate with four years of Latin and French, which I picked because of their relevance to philosophy.
My recs should be good to great, and I'm planning on two supplementary recs from summer philosophy teachers which should be even better.

So that's it. No sports, no instruments and no community service. Am I in trouble?

SCHOOLS:

Yale (SCEA)
Harvard
Princeton
Stanford
Brown
UChicago
Johns Hopkins (legacy)
Dartmouth
UPenn

(I /DO/ have safety schools - I'm just not asking for chances about them. :P )

Again, be brutally honest. All comments appreciated.
Thanks!

Yeah, you are in trouble with no community service.
You still have time to get some in though so I advise you to get started.
Your scores are good, your gpa as well but I think you are just an average applicant to Yale SCEA.
Chance me please.

Is community service really a necessity for ivies?.. I’m a member of NHS, so I’ve done the 3 service projects/semester that they require, but I don’t think it’s been documented or anything.

Yale (SCEA)- Reach, Reach for everyone though. You have a better shot then most.
Harvard- Reach
Princeton- Reach
Stanford- Reach
Brown- Lower reach
UChicago- Low Reach/Match
Johns Hopkins (legacy)- Low Reach/Match
Dartmouth- Low reach/Match
UPenn- Reach

Id be surprised if you didnt get into more then half your list, getting into HYPS will be difficult, especially without community service. I would be surprised if you didnt get into one or two of them though.

Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/741546-johns-hopkins-ea-brown-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

It is a unofficial necessity because almost everyone that applies has it.

Sure, but that could also be said of something like nhs or nat merit - but personally I don’t think they get anyone accepted or rejected.
Anyway, thanks - maybe I’ll look into volunteering somewhere…

Are you a native speaker of French?

I do think that having no community service will hurt you, especially because you have no amazing EC’s or job or anything to make up for it.

Did you take Yearbook and Debate as classes? Because then they shouldn’t really count as EC’s…

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/739609-barack-obama-says-chance-me-yale-scea.html</a></li>

Not a native speaker, and yearbook and debate both require HUGE amounts of time outside of class - easily 10 hrs a week for each, more when things get busy… Should I mention this somewhere?
