Chances for Yale SCEA

White, middle-class male.

GPA: ~3.7 (UW), 6.0 (W)
My school uses an odd weighting system. My grades have risen each year, culminating in a 4.0 UW last year and resulting in:

Class Rank: 4/380

Honors/AP Courses taken:
Algebra II, Geometry, Precalculus, AP BC Calc
World Cultures, U.S. History I, AP U.S. History, AP Psychology
Latin IV
General Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Physics
English I, English II, AP English
Philosophy

I've taken the most challenging schedule possible.

Test Scores
SAT: 2260 (800 CR, 700 Math, 760 Writing)
APs: 5, U.S. History, 5, Chemistry

-National Merit Semifinalist

I'll be taking three SAT II's in October: Math IIc, Chemistry, and U.S. History. I'll also be taking the ACT and retaking the SAT in November, as well as 5 (possibly 6) AP exams next May. I'm not sure what to predict for the Nov. SAT. I'd like to say to 2300+, but I'm continuously frustrated by the math portion.

Extras

Out of school:

My recommendations should be very solid. I'm not entirely certain about the topics of my essays, but I'm leaning towards health care (I've wanted to be doctor since the first grade).

Oh, and I'm a legacy.

Shameless bump.

I think you have a chance...especially if you get a higher SAT
but Yale is questionable for everyone...and your legacy def. helps a lot!

I am also applying Yale SCEA...can you chance me?

my thread is "I wanna go to Hogwarts - Chance me!"

I'm also applying SCEA this year as a legacy! (yay!)

ummm I think that you're going to get in. Last year a girl from my school (legacy at Harvard) got in and she had stats very similar to yours. And obviously Yale/Harvard are equally as hard to get into.

Do well on your SAT2s, but don't worry about your SAT1, it's fine. trust me. I hope we can have a legacy party when we (hopefully) get accepted!!!!!! :D

P.S what residential college was your parent(s) in?

Branford! What about yours?

oh noooo, trumbull :(

oh wellllll :)

Ah :(

Regardless ;) , hopefully we both get in!

Bump again to soothe my soul... I just visited the campus for a second time, and my level of excitement doubled.

i think you have a good shot, especially since you're a legacy
