oh and research ISEF candidate

Yale is so incredibly touchy. I saw a video on CollegeBoard where the Dean of Admissions said, “The High School Transcript is the single most important piece of the college application.”

I had a friend who applied to Yale, let me give you some of his stats.

Valedictorian.
Perfect GPA, literally flawless.
Every AP Class available was taken.
Varsity Lacrosse Player.
36 on his ACT.
Total Philanthropist, dedicated tutor & volunteer to his community.

Waitlisted and then rejected.

After knowing this it is impossible to tell who can get into Yale, everyone thought he was a shoe-win, shu-in? to every school he was applying to. He was rejected by most ives and ended up attending Colby Mackenna College…

Food for thought.

Are you a junior?
If so, how do you know if you an ISEF candidate?
By College Italian do you mean SUPA or an equivalent?
Also are you a year ahead in Italian?
You have the grades and SAT score to get past the first round of elimination, but for qualified candidates like you ECs and essays really count. ISEF will definitely help you a lot. I also know Ivies have a thing for NFLers. Especially if they break on the national circuit.
Good luck!

Yes, I’m a junior
Yes, SUPA, and I am ahead a year.
Also, I’ve broken on a National Circuit, but not at the Yale tournament.
This college is my dream school.

You have a good GPA and are a URM so that will help. On the other hand your ECs, SATs, and SAT IIs are not good enough for yale. Aim for higher scores if you want to have a shot.

@UChicagoHopefull I can’t tell if you’re trolling, but OP’s scores are perfectly fine for Yale.
I know someone who got into Yale with lower test scores and average ECs. Your essays are what really matter.

Thanks for all the helpful advice everyone. What is a URM?

Also how are my ECs not good enough?

URM means “underrepresented minority” so like African American, Latino, etc.
And your ECs are just typical for a high school student.

Good GPA and good ECs. Those are taken care of. If you can get a 2300 on your SAT, I think you have a good shot, as far as that goes for Ivies. Study study study to raise that SAT. Good luck!
