<p>I just sat SAT I for the first time and it went pretty badly. I've no idea what score to expect, but i think it'll be only 2000-ish. This makes me wonder if I stand any chance of getting into Yale at all. I could only take the test in October, because in the summer I sat my British exams, and I want to apply SCEA, so re-sitting it isn't really an option.
Aside from that, I have a 3.9 GPA, and I am 2nd in my class, in a rather prestigious British school. I have won a couple of academic prizes, about every single history essay competition out there, and a couple of MUN conferences.
On top of that, I speak three foreign languages, I volunteer at a local school as a philosophy teacher, I am the president of a local debate club and I work as opinion columnist for a newspaper. Plus, I've self-taught myself the guitar and the ukulele. I've also done some work experience with 2 attorneys over the summer and completed several MOOCs relevant to the major that I want to do, I am writing a novel and have a blog, also relevant to my major.</p>
<p>There is no reason why I wouldn't get excellent references from my teachers and counsellor, and the essays shouldn't be too hard to write. </p>
<p>Do you think that I still have any chance of getting in, when applying SCEA? Because of college appliction in the UK, I can't wait until RD, so deffering the application isn't really an option.</p>
<p>I know that my SATs are pretty bad, but do they look at them in context, as in consider say your backround and the fact that you couldn't afford private tuition to prep etc?</p>
<p>Any thoughts on that? Anyone?</p>
