Are there any other schools I should be considering? Please save the Devry's Online College and University of Phoenix Arizona Online comments for some other fellow. Thanks!

I am addicted to CC...

what school do you go to? I go to Piedmont Hills.

Lynbrook in the cupertino/ san jose region

Your stats are good. Which will be helpful. With that said, an 800 in Chinese w/ listening for an asian kid is anything but impressive... the average for that test is like a 790. Take another real, meaningful SAT II.

What is your class rank? If you're not in the top 10%, your chances decrease markedly.

I hate to say it, but you have basically dug your own grave by having little EC interest. See if you can get involved and do something you truly enjoy ASAP. I am serious like a heart attack.Your stats will get you considered, but unless you work on your ECs, the lack thereof will sink you.

Good luck.

lol maybe. do I know you?

Well Wharton and Columbia are certainly have the best business programs. Your scores/GPA are literally near-perfect, so you'll most likely get into Berkeley and UCLA. The only problem with your application is that your ECs don't show any interest in business. This could certainly stop you from getting into Penn, Columbia, and Stanford.

aruubato:

UCB/UCLA: Safe Match

I've been contemplating starting an sat tutoring thing with a friend. Would that count as an ec? And how do colleges even know that you do the ecs you claim you do? lol, want to milk my score for all its worth and earn some money while I'm at it.

The people on this message board are (often) so cutthroat and petty that they would report you for sending in fake ECs. Be careful, they do have a lot of info on you from this post.

Plus, it's nigh on impossible to fake a meaningful EC. Adcoms are trained to spot liars, and if something doesn't add up, you can bet they will place you in the reject pile faster than you can blink. Interviews will also kill you should you get caught in an untruth.

Berkeley and UCLA you're in, I'm sure you know that. And with those scores, I'd be absolutely shocked if you didn't make at least a few Ivies or top private schools.

The Cals will let you in. Everywhere else? Honestly it will be hard. The private schools want people with SATs around 750 for everything (750-800 is not really a big difference there.) They want, more than anything, INTERESTING people with strong essays and proven leadership abilities.

bumpity bump

Also 110 on the AMC 12
(not too good I know, I had a calc test to study for so I rushed through it)
I think I got a 3 on the AIME as well.

bumpity bump

ok, with paltry ECs you're going to have to write STELLAR essays for the Ivy schools. you'll be competing against other asians with awesome stats, so you have to differentiate yourself in the essays since you haven't on extracurriculars...

once again, more raw numbers are not going to help you. You need EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES.

If you do not seriously improve your EC profile, you WILL be rejected by the ivies and top private schools. Guaranteed.
