<p>Hey whats up, I've finished my application to UCSB and will send it asap. I'm from northern NJ and I know out-of-state admissions are tough, and I saw on UCSB's site they only have 4% OOS students. I visited the campus when I was in CA visiting a cousin, and the campus and feel of the school are awesome, definitely one of my first choices. Can you give me your honest opinions on what my chances are? Also, I know that UCSB's a science-geared school but I'm going to major in History, alt major International Relations (pre-law).</p>

<p>GPA: 90/100 UW (no weighted GPA), ranked 122 of 697</p>
<p>Wrote what's been called a standout essay by everyone I've shown it to (by people at Princeton and a former admissions rep from Yale)</p>
<p>I wish the UC schools allowed recs...</p>

<p>My own production company (I produce and DJ and am a recognized artist). One of the big reasons I want to go to UCSB is the music scene that goes on around IV... I'm looking at academics first though!!</p>
<p>Worked as a counselor, maintenance, lifeguard, and food preparer/server at a local bagel joint.</p>
<p>Music's my passion and I conveyed that in my essays. What do you think?</p>
