I've gotten straight A's throughout all my classes, but sophomore year I kind of messed up. That was the year that I had a family tragedy, and it was extremely tough for my whole family and myself. I tried my hardest to achieve good grades, but one of my classes suffered the most. For the first semester, I got a 4.3 weighted, but I received a D grade in my Honors Algebra 2 class. Second semester of sophomore year, I got straight A's and a B+ in my AP European History class.

Junior year I got straight A's, and received a 4.86 (my school weighs honors classes on their transcripts) and two fives and a four on AP exams.

if there is any information left out please tell me! I really want to attend UCSB or Chapman/Pepperdine, since I know I have lost my chances for UC Berkeley and USC

Thanks so much!

haha is this a joke? you are in for sure…

why have you lost your chances at berk and usc? i’d say you have good chances at all the schools you listed. definitely apply!

You have no chance at any good school when you only averaged a 4.4 sophomore year

I was just afraid my D would reject me forsure :[
thanks guys! :)

^^^^^
for the UC’s that D can reject you automatically because you need a C- or better in every single class you take. Make up that class ASAP

I already retook algebra 2 first semester in summer school, so would that be okay?

As long as you make up that D you’re golden. Don’t assume that you’re out of the running for Berkeley and USC! Especially if that one grade was because of a family tragedy…talk about it in your essays, that’s what they’re for. Good luck!

yeah, That is going to be addressed in my personal statements/essays. Thanks ! (:

have any of you gotten in with a D+ (of course, made up later on) on your transcripts?
