Chances? Georgetown

Okay first of all, I’m one of those eager paranoid teenagers that is just super curious/nervous about colleges. I don’t have official GPA or SAT scores since I am a sophomore, but HYPOTHETICALLY I could guess what those scores would be with other things, chance this situation? I’m hoping to get into Georgetown to major in International Relations.

Freshman GPA: 2.6
Sophomore GPA: 3.2
Junior GPA:3.8

- A year abroad in Thailand as a Rotary Youth Exchange
-Very strong essay
- 4-5 Months in Total, Volunteering Abroad
- Retail Job, 16 Hours a week
- Experiences at college programs for high schoolers (Including Georgetown and Ithaca College)
- Spanish, Interact and History Club
- 2 Years of Track
- 2 Years of Indoor Track

I’m well aware that my GPA is well below average, but I’m hoping my time abroad would help since I’m looking to study in International Relations

It won’t

Sorry to say hypothetical won’t get you very far. Hypothetically, I could have a 4.0UW and a 36 act, but that isn’t the reality.
Georgetown, as I’m sure you know is a darn good school with tens of thousands of awesome applicants every year.
The chances that they would accept a student with a 2.6 on their high school transcript is not likely. It would take a miracle. You don’t seem to have any hooks. ECs are good but they won’t make up for your GPA.
Look at some other schools. I’m sure you’ll get into a school that will make you happy, it just may not be Georgetown.
