You're definitely making it in. Your GPA is fine, your SAT I/IIs are great, and your EC's are pretty good also. I don't think the single parent household will have much weight on your admissions, but it should help you out with financial aid, especially when its looked at with your numbers.

Agree you'd get accepted and probably with money offered but the most important question is which BU College? CAS? Also, how rigorous are your courses? Have you taken many Honors or AP courses?

dreams, if you state your stats correctly, you have an excellent chance at getting into Harvard or any other school you want. (I assume you already know that and are looking at BU as a safety or because it's all the way across the country.) It looks like your SAT's math and verbal are about 1400 and that would put you at the very high end for African-American applicants nationwide. Your grades are very good and, bluntly, you're the kind of minority candidate the schools wish they saw more often. I know a number of minority applicants with significantly lower scores and grades who got into Ivies. That's just the way it is.

lergnom he never said anything about Harvard, why dont you focus on BU.

GreenDayFan :D.

ManUtd20Ole....Hello?

I just thought your comment was funny and snickered.

That's what the face was for.

Oh i get it now. i kind of figured that, but there was an ounce of confusion thus i decided a question mark would be appropriate after my 'hello'.
:D

GDF, the person PM'd me and asked if I was serious because that is actually her goal. She would have very good odds of getting into BU as a non-minority but as one . . .

BTW, ManUtd, I'm an Arsenal fan.

race aside - i still think you'd get in.

and of course, your financial aid package, if you decide to go, will rock.

... mine does.
