I know it's a VERY slim chance, but I want to go there so badly. So here is what I've got:

ACT Composite- 34 (trying for a 35 this fall)

GPA - 3.95

Class rank- 37th out of 460 or 8%

AP- 5s in both US History and AB Calculus
will take French, Physics, US Gov't and Comparative Gov't this (senior)
year

I will have earned my associate's degree from Utah Valley University from concurrent enrollment, AP's and distance ed. in a year from now. (currently have over 50 credit hours with a 4.0 college gpa)

ECs- Part-time job since April or May
Planning on finishing Eagle Scout by October
Actively participate in church
Have been a leader in church youth groups on and off for six years
Planning on going on a two-year church mission that I will pay for
myself. Will have over $10,000 saved to pay for it in a year and a half.

So what do you guys think? I would love to go to MIT, but I don't think my ECs are good enough, as well as my gpa.

Bump.

BTW, I am expecting to have nearly 100 college credits done by the end of next summer, well more than is required for an associates degree. How much attention do you guys think MIT would pay to all of these credits? I know they wouldn't accept 90% of them if I tried to transfer them (that is why I will apply as a freshman). Do you think they will help significantly in getting accepted, though?

Plus what do you think about other schools such as:
Cal Tech
Harvard
Columbia?

I may not get accepted into any of these schools, in which case I would go to BYU, which I am almost certain I could get a full-ride for, but I would rather go to a harder school to learn more and have possibly more opportunities.

Someone please repy.

Are you sure you're eligible for freshman admissions? Also, I'm pretty sure that if you were accepted MIT would award exactly 0 credit hours for community college courses and exactly 9 elective credits from AP US history.

What will your associates degree be in and what will the highest math/sci courses that you have taken?

I'm not positive I'm eligible but I believe I am because they won't accept the credits, but I will look it up. EDIT: Here's a quote from MIT's site about transferring,

" Q. I have been attending college during my senior year in high school. Can I apply as a transfer?

A.No. If you are still in high school, you are considered a freshman applicant regardless of how many units of study you may have taken at the university level."

I think my associates will be in "university studies". It was called an associates of arts until they upgraded to a university (it's not a community college). I knew they wouldn't accept most or any of my credits, but I thought those would look good on an application and that's why I listed them.

My highest math is AB Calculus and I have taken or will take this year (senior) a college-level biology course, normal chemistry, honors physics and AP physics.

Thanks for replying.

Sorry for bumping so much, but I would like an answer please.
