Chances getting into Rice University

Dear college confidential,

I am currently a junior in high school and taking 5 AP classes currently.

AP Physics B
AP US History
Lab Management Aid
AP Academic Decathlon
AP Calculus AB
AP English III

I'm in top 10% of my classes of 606 students and our school is listed as one of the best high schools in texas.
I have also volunteered to work in a vegetarian restaurant and it has been 4 years ever since I have worked, about 12 hours every week.
Been a member of Health Occupational Students of America (HOSA) for 2 years
Taken PSAT last year as a Sophmore (one that does not count) and have gotten a score of 192. I will be receiving this year's result in a month around December.

My life goal is to graduate Rice University, be accepted to John Hopkins medical school and become an anesthesiologist after the years of residency and such.

There are many reasons that Rice University seemed to be the best choice but one that stood out the most was that they provided full all-time scholarships to households that carry a year income under 60k, which describes my household...

Would it be possible for me to be accepted to Rice University?
What would be helpful to increase the chances?

Thank you so much in advance!

Best regards,

I’d say its a mid reach or a low reach. 192 is a bit low though… i think you would need at least a 2000 on the real SAT. well good luck!

so would higher SAT score be the only improvement i’d have to make?

i think a higher SAT score would secure your chances more, but it also depends on your recs and essays.

2000 is still low…
