Grades are fine and course rigor is there. 33 is a good first ACT score, especially for a current junior. 34+ would help.

ECs are fairly ordinary and as you mention there is a lack of leadership. Have you done any community service?

Right now reach/low reach because of the ECs, as WashU is holistic in the application process.

I haven’t done enough community service to warrant listing it. It’s really scattered and not really valuable. Also, that was my 4th ACT. I took it in 7th, 9th, and 10th grade beforehand, scores being 21, 27, 29, and then most recently the 33. Goal is 35.

I really appreciate the feedback. I’m working on some stronger ECs to improve my chances and this only reinforced that.

Washu takes into account demonstrated interest a lot. If you can I would visit and do an interview there or do an off campus interview. If they are holding any information sessions in your local area you should attend (they make you sign in so they know you came). 33 is fine. Lots of people here with lower than 33. I do not think you need to attempt another exam unless you are certain you can get 35/36. BUt if you are really paranoid you can take it again.

Okay, noted. Thank you!
