i've lived 30min from DC my entire life, and its an awesome place (just dont venture into SE or SW, no matter what clubs are there/your friends want you to, ect...its dangerous) DC is a beautiful place, and i take it you want to study a political science-type major, and DC is the place to do it...good luck =)

well good, because its basically the capital of the world and everyone should experience it =P i wouldnt trade it for anything, i lovelovelove it at christmas time too!! bbaaahhhhh i want to go home and go into dc! =( one week from thursday and im freeeeeee...

do some museums there too...just dont go "to the Smithsonian"...i cant tell you how many people say "oh im going to the smithsonian!"...yeah ok theres like 10 of em...but go to the air&space (cool stuff, no joke...see the 3D movie too) natural history (hope dimond! duh!) and american history
skip the native amer., its all political crap
and sculptures garden, cuz you can go ice skating in the winter

Tufts, Georgetown, and Emory are at least nearly-impossible reaches. American & GWU fit your GPA/stats profile. You can also look at some of the easier-to-get-into NESCACs like Bates, etc.

Emory's ACT midrange is 29-33, so 30 falls in the middle of accepted applicants pool. Georgetown and Tufts have similar stats. While your GPA is a little low I find your ECs to be significantly better than average, so you would have a decent shot at all these schools.
