Hi there, prospective junior looking at UConn's website and data on collegeboard. It looks really great and I figure in my current status I'd throw down my stats and see my chances.

Parttime job over summer

(A lot is "well you don't actually have this yet" but just for a guestimate, heh)

Mm I actually, now that I think about after taking parts of practice tests, AFTER studying I may have a much higher score. I took the SATs in January without studying too much; terrible idea. My scores weren't deathly low but lower than what I put above. And yes, I figured my GPA would be a problem.

You do have a chance. It doesn't help that your out of state, but your SATS are not incredibly low for UCONN. I know people, although instate who have gotten in with lower scores. Try to get an 1100 and bring up your GPA.

I have no heart set on UConn plus I'm still a junior with 2 quarters of the year left to raise my GPA, and my SAT scores. Plus I have summer to get a few ECs in and my teachers like me so there's recommendations too. And being only a junior, at my school we don't know our class ranks until senior year. But I'm out of maybe about 550 in my graduating class? (about 2250 total kids in my school, not the same for each grade level I know that. We had a gigantic freshmen population come in this year).

But nooo. I do not want to go to Community College. I'd have to go to HVCC (Hudson Valley) in the Troy/Albany area..it's..iffy. But like I said! I have plenty other options like SUNY schools and such. Of course I'll definitely get my grades/scores up by application time.
