chances for Harvard, Columbia, Princeton, EECS UCberkeley, cornell, penn, stanford?

P.S. : MIT- denied!
Harvard - deferred ED!
UCLA, UCDavis, UCSD - accepted!

Gunn high school! so many of my hs church friends used to go there. lol

well your school rank 39 isn't that high, even though it's a very competitive school.. and the fact that your CR is in its 600's (even tho it's practically the same thing as a 700 or 710) is not so good at first glance..

I would say you have a very good chance at columbia, cornell, penn.
EECS, Stanford, Princeton -- a little less, but still a possibility
harvard seems to be a reach (b/c school rank and SAT CR score..)

but of course, who knows! : ) good luck

"I would say you have a very good chance at columbia, cornell, penn."

Ummm, just barely being in the top 10% isn't exactly going to give a good chance. Especially at Columbia. OP, the schools you listed are very high reaches for anybody...

my rank is low because of FRESHMAN year (i wasnt serious that year).
without freshman year, my rank is around 22.
but all colleges see is Top 10% because we dont do rankings.

your stats are slightly on the low side, but I think your passion for robotics and programming is conveyed very strongly overall. That, if anything, will get you into some of these schools. I'd say you have a decent shot.

Mostly all of your school are reaches for anybody. You seem to have the strongest chance at Berkely, Cornell, and Penn though.

op-how do u already know you are into ucla, i thought that wasn't coming out for a few days?

i got an early letter, because i am beast.

Nevermind. -_-; Just stop attacking other people's posts.

lol @ iriseyes. he's right. mah bad guyzzzz :(

sorry, to troll, but thanks for the honest opinions. kthx

ANYONE?? WHAT ARE MY CHANCES?? MORE PPL PLZ!! thanks!

thursday, i get a whole bunch of responses...i hope all goes well

i don't think your stats too low. you have a shot at these schools, although if you had applied EA to cornell instead of harvard you would have most likely gotten in. you should probably have chosen a bigger range of schools, because these are all so similar in rankings and admissions.

good luck!

you have great chances because you are muslim (SO AM I!!) woot just pray to Allah every sujood and you will be fine..

wow, i think your stats are very high, mine aren't even that good and im trying to strive for the same universities. good luck to you!

I haven't read the other posts and in case nobody mentioned it, your SAT score is on the low side for Princeton and Stanford. Since your ECs are mainly in math/science, a higher score in those subjects would have helped.

OKAY GUYS
HERE ARE THE RESULTS! they are extremely BIZZARE!!

Berkeley EECS(but apparently i'm into regular berkeley): Rejected
MIT: Rejected
Stanford: Rejected

Harvard: Waitlist
Princeton: Waitlist
Columbia: Waitlist
Cornell:Waitlist
UPenn: Waitlist

UCLA: Accepted
UCDavis: accepted
UCSD: accepted

*** do i do with all these waitlists?? i'm stuck going to UCLA(dont worry i still think ucla is perty good, but i woulda liked better)!!

any advice on what to do would be helpful!!!

Your results look pretty typical for the year. I think all the waitlists were a nod to the fact that you were a solid candidate with a demonstrated passion, but I wouldn't expect to get off one.

Just top 10% at even a strong high school is just not enough during these peak years.

what should i do while on the waitlist?
i'm planning on sending additional letters to say that i am very interested.
(i dont wanna send in my grades, senioritis....)
i think i will also constantly call these colleges up to inquire, and demonstrate my dedication.

anything else i should do?
