Im sure I will have AMAZING recs and my essay should be pretty good as well. Thanks again everyone!

sorry..i just dont understand these post..like i said b4 in another post..u know ur chances just as much as anyone else in this place..i dont see the point..

Yeah, I agree with sexydesi...
But see it this way, your chances are good enough for Harvard that they are out of predictions (again, this is Harvard)--everything depends on luck now. So best of luck!

umm...no I dont.
No matter, what a person will always look at himself differently than another person.

It can be either a positive or negative view depending on that person.

The way I look at my stats is completely different than the app commitee in Harvard. However, all you intelligent folks out there might be closer to the bullseye.

ok....unless the adcom looks/posts in this board...i really doubt anyone can tell you your chances.....therefore...to all those thinking about posting any chances thread.....DON'T...besides...what's the point...the admission process is so random anyway....what is it that you expect to hear? no one really know what is going to happen....so this kind of posts will most likely result in raising false hope....or discouraging potential applicants...(whatever Harvard's definition of potential is, no one really knows)...i really don't think that you can benefit for this post in anyway....

As you doubtlessly already know, chances at Harvard, and at many other first tier schools, are nearly impossible to evaluate. Because there are so many parameters factored into determining whether or not an applicant is accepted, the evaluations provided by a bunch of high schoolers on a forum is, at best, of little value.

Most of the people on collegeconfidential are highly, highly competitive applicants, and scrolling through the posts can easily result in a tremendous self-esteem drop. In my opinion, CC represents, in many cases, the creme de la creme. Keep that in mind.

Because you have probably already submitted your application (if you haven't, then I can assure you that your acceptance chances at Harvard are near 0%, because the deadline was about a week ago!), not much can be done to improve your chances than to, perhaps, submit additional information about anything that may help you stand out in their minds over the next few months.

You're a competitive applicant, but based on the little information that you have provided (just like the hundreds of others on these boards), all that can be said is that there are hundreds of applicants more competitive than you, and hundreds that are less competitive. With truly amazing essays (your evaluation of the essays really won't suffice, because it's nearly impossible for one to evaluate one's own work objectively), and a well-put-together application, anybody with decent numbers can stand a realistic chance.

They're decent. However, as an asian male you will be competing against other asian males who, as you probably know, are also very strong in science. You need to stand out among them, perhaps by means of your eagle scout status or your sports involvement. If your essays are really good and personal, that could be what tips you over. Let me put it this way: I wouldn't be surprised if you got in, but neither would I be surprised if you didn't. You're at that middle level where no one can definitively assess your chances- you're not an obvious reject nor an obvious admit. Hope this helped, and good luck.
