lets say that even if you do get a 2250....... the average SAT score for Harvard is 2355, Yale is 2290, Princeotn is 2230, Brown is 2230, and University of Pennsylvania is 2220. Now, you have to have great essays ( that is a requirement), and have great Math IIC and Hisotry SATs, then you will have a chance at probably john hopkins, georgetown, and berkely.

so... you're saying...?
thank you btw

Yup, Korean is not minority...
There are so many Korean in my school....

Wowser- if you are not a US citizen, it will be difficult for you to get financial aid. Other internationals have posted extensively on this website that not only did the Ivies not give them aid- they rejected them outright. You need to do a lot of research on good private colleges and universities that DO offer aid to internationals. Also, what state do you live in? The top public university may have an honors program. The sad fact is that people who need aid may have to settle for something less than their first choice- especially middle class kids whose parents are unwilling to spend, and non-citizens. You need to stop worrying about Ivy admissions and look into the financial aspects, seriously.

that's very unfortunate...
guess i'll have to talk to parents about this.

there is this korean who got into princeton
international like me. similar stats. asked for financial aid
and is going to princeton for 5k or something like that.

So i was kinda hopeful...
but...
alright...

thanks anyway!

Oh, then Princeton may be one of the schools that does offer aid to internationals. If so, apply! Grinnell College gives aid to internationals, and is highly ranked. Can you become a citizen soon? If so, your chances for aid will go way up.

Why is it that so many kids have such an unrealistic take on their chances at HYPS, the Ivies, etc.? Look Wowser, you're clearly a good student and your ECs are fine, and you may get a 2250 on your SATs but - and this is a fact - you'd be just an average applicant at HYPS and the Ivies, and average applicants have, at best, a 10% to 15% chance at these schools. My advice is to apply to a couple of reaches (could be Ivies or other top schools) with the understanding that you probably won't get accepted, a bunch of matches, and a couple of safeties.
