Hello, I’m currently planning on transferring to texas tech from new jersey. I’m in a 4 year university and have a 2.3 gpa because i failed a science course and it brought down my gpa, i’ve earned 26 credit hours and by the end of spring 2017 I will have 40 credits, do you believe I will have a chance in getting in for fall 2017 semester?
Depends on what major you’re transferring into. If it’s engineering, you need a 3.0+.
Otherwise, since you have 24+ hours (assuming all your credits will transfer), you only need a 2.25 cumulative GPA and you’ll have guaranteed admission to the college.
Getting into Texas Tech isn’t hard; the only schools that are actually difficult to transfer into are Rice, UT-Austin, and Texas A&M.
