I dunno who decided to come up with the whole "GPA is 2/3" thing. Penn State has never said that, it's just speculation.

I'm pretty sure you're in. I highly doubt they'd reject a 1400. My scores were pretty similar to yours. I have 8 AP's and stuff, 32 ACT. They accepted me two days after I applied. Honestly though, with stats like that, why Penn State? I'd say use it as your safety.

Yes Penn State has said it. They say it everywhere, even in group presentations and on their web site. You would have to go out of your way not to hear it. If you have no idea what you are talking about, don't just say something for the sake of saying something. Some people take what is posted here for face value and don't double check. Your making of stuff up could screw someone up.

Now back to the OP. Like I said before, your stats, while very good, are not the preferred spilt for PSU. You still have a good shot in getting in. For example, my SATs were the same as yours, but flipped, and my GPA was 10% higher. Now, I got into main campus but I would not guarantee that you get in. You should post your class rank for us to get a better idea of if your GPA is good or not. At my school, an average suburban high school, you would not be in the top 50%.

I got rejected with a 1400 (680 M 720 V) I was rejected from University Park but accepted into the Lehigh Valley campus. GPA was 3.1 UW 3.2 W. Class Rank was in the top half. Took 7 Honors (Not Weighted) classes and 3 APs (Weighted one point). Also my GPA was like 3.8 Freshman, 2.8 Sophomore, and 3.0 Junior so it was kind of a downward trend. with 8 APs though and an 89 I would guess you will get in.

I was accepted with the 1260 SAT I had at the time, 4.0ish GPA and 20/200ish class rank, so you shouldn't really have a problem. But I also had the state-residancy thing on my side, so it may be a little different for you.
