Chances here as out of state student?

I have a 3.18 unweighted and a 4.0-3.8 weighted GPA what are my chances?

Excellent chance… especially if you are planning to pay the OOS tuition

Your GPA is fine. What are your test scores?

@beth’s mom I just took them what score do i need?

I don’t know that there’s a particular minimum test score you need. In the last published numbers I saw, the mid-50% range SAT scores were 490-620 Critical Reading, 500-630 Math, 480-600 Writing. Mid-50% ACT scores were 22-31. I know a couple students from my daughter’s OOS high school who’ve been admitted with ACT scores lower than that.

@dodgerman711

are you a HS Junior or Senior?

My son talked to the guidance counselor and informed that if he gets the grades he has now he will be getting a 3.8 weighted gpa and his counselor said that that’s around the “ball park” is this true? He told me he calculated it on UMD’s gpa scale we’re instate residents. He has an uptrend starting junior year. What SAT score should he get? His class rank is 172/350 unweighted gpa (3.06 right now but could go up at end of junior year) and his weighted is 221/372 (possibly could go up junior year.)>>>

Have you asked your parents how much they’ll pay each year?

Your ACT/SAT score is needed to make an assessment.
