I'd appreciate any input. UNC is the only place I want to go, and this suspense is KILLING ME!

I'm an in-state white female applying EA. I attend a very small school in Guilford County, and I'm a part of the first graduating class. It's an arts magnet school (I major in orchestra).

GPA: 3.5uw, 4.25w, most rigorous including 7 AP classes
Rank:7/15. County requires school to provide rank.
SAT: 2250; 740m, 760v, 750w.

Awards: 2 poetry awards, poet laureate of my school, all-state orchestra, all-county orchestra, National Merit commended to UNC, nominated for gov school twice (did not get in. hmph), played violin in school every day since 6th grade.

I have two great recommendations and great essays.

I really want to know if anyone thinks my unweighted GPA will be an issue. It definitely is, but will everything else make up for it?

You should get in, you GPA is not that low just an A/B average and your SAT reflects your quality of learning which means that you learned from those B’s.

If you are in-state, you will definitely get in. 3.5 is not low for in-state, plus your schedule, EC, and great test scores will make up for it.

^Both of which are good Universities, even though App’s reputation as a party school precedes it ;-).

I know the feeling though, my only other applications were to UNCG, Duke, and Holy Cross, and if I don’t get into Carolina, there isn’t much of a chance of my getting into Duke or Holy Cross. You just haveto realize that even if you go to one of your safties, they are still good schools.

While it is fine to have a dream school - and Chapel Hill is that school for many students - realize that there are many other fine institutions in the state of North Carolina.
