chances?? Honesty please

I'm getting nervous that I didn't apply to enough schools and am considering adding some privates. I only applied to 4 top UC's, 1 private, and cal poly. All opinions would be really appreciated. I'm a physics major.

UC GPA: 4.23
Fully weighted GPA: 4.31
Unweighted GPA: 3.85 (only B's in high school were sophomore honors english and junior AP english)

Best SAT: 2120
Best Math: 740
Best Reading: 720
Best Writing: 700 (essay: 8)

SAT II:
Literature: 720
Math 2: 710
US History: 740

ACT: 33

AP's:
World History: 4
US History: 4
English Language: 4
Psychology: 5

Senior Schedule:
AP Physics
Ap Econ/Civics
AP Calc (BC)
Regular English (Did English at JC over summer - earned A)
Anatomy
Taking Stats at college 2nd semester

Rank: 19/580

Caucasian from competative California high school.
Participated as cheerleader and captain of tennis team.
Worked part-time.
Did leadership for school and church.
No special circumstances or tragedies. Normal suburban childhood(Both parents went to college)
Not ELC due to computer error made by my school. darn!

You should have no problem getting in. 2120 and 4.23 are very impressive.

I think that's actually a superscore. What was your best sitting SAT score hopeful? They don't look at your best from individual sittings. (I'll also let it be known that I don't believe in giving sub 10 essay scores a 700+ writing score, but that's just me).

no his best would have been 2160 then

match to all the uc you applied to

the private you applied to is up in the air like any private

and dont know why you applied to cal poly since ucsd/uci are probably the other 2 ucs you applied to and are safe matches

^Well, the private might not necessarily be up in the air. I think places like U Chicago might be considered high matches.

yeah i guess it depends on the private... i mean usc would be a super duper safe match

Thanks for the responses! The 2120 is my best sitting. I'm a girl, not a guy(cheerleading should have given that away). USC is the private. Applied to Cal Poly mostly because everyone at my school does but I really wouldn't want to go there. Davis was my 4th UC, not Irvine. Does anyone know anyone with my test scores and grades that didn't get into either UCLA or CAL? I think my essays were good but I didn't have anything amazing to write about.

I'm glad IlikeDice doesn't score SAT's because you really can get an 8 on the essay and a 700 writing score :)

hopeful2008:

UCLA: Match

you should be fine, no need to apply to more schools since UCLA and Cal should be pretty easy to get in with your score, Davis is a good back up and Cal Poly SLO or pomona... SLO has some good majors such as their architecture program if she want to do that... as for USC if you can get in UCLA, then USC shouldn't be hard to get in either...

Matches all around. Go for the elite privates! :-D
