oh hey everyone. yeah. i'm on of these people asking for you to chance her because I need some feedback at this point. I'm out of state and will probably only go to USC if I get some pretty great merit aid. Being accepted to their honors program would be a bonus. Love their international business program; that's what has really attracted me to USC. so yeah, chance away!

I would think you would be a “shoe-in” for an honors program if you raised your math score a little (it’s only average for USC) - but your grades are amazing so that alone may get you there.

I can’t imagine why you wouldn’t get into the International Business program. Good job!

This is what the honors college page says… “The mid-range of scores–between 25% and 75% of all scores–for the 2010 Freshman class was between 1370 and 1450 (SAT critical reading and math) and between 31 and 33 on the ACT. The average weighted GPA was 4.51. Higher SAT or ACT scores can offset lower grades vice versa”. My daughter is a freshman this year and I think they said the stats are higher with this group. You probably will be more competitive with a higher SAT. You have good ECs. The honors program is great and all get some scholarship, many which reduce out of state tuition to in-state amounts. Start on the application now!!! It is literally the most time consuming one my daughter did. Good luck!

I met a girl today who had a 29 ACT and was the valedictorian in her class of like 200 and she didn’t get into the Honors College. That was about the same ACT score as your SAT. She was also out of state and from Ohio.

That being said, you’d definitely get into USC and would almost definitely get at least the Woodrow scholarship, which is worth way more than the $500 it appears to be because of out of state tuition reduction.

I’d say you have a decent shot at the Honors College. Just make sure your essays and recs are really strong!

thanks for the positive feedback everyone! I am going to get started on this app asap; I have heard it takes a while to finish. Hopefully when I take the SAT again in the fall it will rise and I’ll have a better shot at Honors. thanks again
