<p>I am a CCC student and california resident, my major is mechanical engineering and my gpa at the time of application will be 3.6. EC's are pretty weak, I'm low income and have done some working while in school. What are my chances? I can write a very good essay I think.</p>

<p>i think you're fine for UCSD...just keep up the gpa and everything else will fall into place.</p>
<p>Ask your CCC if they have a UCSD TAG contract you can fill out.</p>
<p>By the way, you also have a good shot at UCLA with that major and GPA</p>
<p>Kloulex, I would say it all depends. If you've been able to maintain stellar stas in your major courses, then you have a very good shot.</p>
