Chances- I beg of you to help me

CHANCES- Early Action
Hey, I am planning on applying early action to UND or BC, I hope it would be a better choice to apply to UND over BC if my stats are good enough.

Stats:
SAT I- 1480/ Math IC - 760, Math IIC - 800, Bio- 790, Physics- 790, Latin- 750, Writing- 640/

8 APs: Biology, AB Calc, BC Calc, Latin: Vergil, Chemistry, Physics B, English Language, Statistics
-Mostly 5's and 4's

I have a great list of extra-curriculars which I have not compiled yet but will do so. But I have had many leadership obligations and awards with a well-rounded base.

Grades:
Freshman year, I had attended a prep school in which I received a 98.5 average with the highest GPA of a 4.2/4.2 with the most difficult courses and perhaps ranked in the top three students academically.

(Sophmore-Senior)
I attend an elite boarding school, Deerfield Academy, where about 33% of the seniors attend the Ivy Leagues. At this difficult place, I, personally, have an 88 average. The school, however, does not rank. The kids who get accepted to Harvard, Princeton, or Yale get around a 90-93 average. Thus, this school is very competetive and a feeder to the top universities. I am on target for perhaps the lower end of the Ivies and other great institutions.

I am a male, asian indian from New Jersey. When does the application come out for this Fall? Also, when should I send it in????

Thanks.

You sound like you have an excellent chance. ND doesn't have a high percentage of Asians like most other top 25 schools so you might actually be a URM. Are you Catholic, or non-Catholic like me? I've heard non-Catholics may have a slightly better chance. Honestly, I can't think of anything you should change. Visit if you can. I did and I fell in love with the school. Good luck!

I am non catholic, hindu, asian indian. But I may only apply if the pre-med is good, acceptance rate to med school is great, and also if there is grrade inflation. I will work hard no matter what but I would prefer, in my opinion, these sort of features.

thanks

Med_TMuds,

You can apply to both ND and BC EA. Niether of them are restricted EA. In fact only Harvard, Stanford and Yale as SCEA. There are also a number of other excellent schools that are open EA, i.e. MIT, Georgetown, U of Chicago, UNC, etc. Many students apply to more than one EA school so they can get their decision before January. However, the schools do not really use EA as a way to show that the school is a student's first choice.

Regarding whether you are catholic or not doesn't really matter at either school. However, both ND and BC are a bit self selective in their student bodies. Students that attended catholic high schools have a tendancy to apply to these schools instead of the Ivys as their reach and match schools. ND has around an 85% catholic population with BC at around 70% and Georgetown at around 50%.

Med_TMuds- I will also be pre-med. I have heard good things about the pre-med program, and their acceptance rate to med school is around 80%, I think.

I believe you are correct about the premed acceptance rate. It is a very strong program.
