chances...i guess (IB diploma candidate)

first post EVER whooo

im a junior
here are my stats:

GPA: 4.0

currently taking IB classes and going for the full IB diploma (and plan on getting it =] )

IB Physics
IB Calc
IB English
IB Chem
French 3
IB History of the Americas

im testing SL in chem and french this year (i'm taking IB french 4 next year, so it doesn't matter if i fail) i plan on taking IB art next year then testing SL instead of taking (or testing) Physics 2.

My ECs aren't that great. i swim JV for my school (sophomore, junior and (definitely) senior year--over 200 hours/ season)
also did track (pole vaulting) during sophomore year, but i dont plan on doing it this year
editorial assistant at a local homless newspaper (100+ hours by senior year)
teen center advisor at local library (15+ hours--not too important)
i plan on doing something after swim season is over, like find a part time job/internship or do more community service--join americorps or something

i took my first SAT this october. i pretty much blow.

reading 630
math 670
writing 650

1940

im tryna get at least 2000 ish, especially by raising my reading score. i will also take the subject tests sometime this year (math level 2, french?, maybe literature or something im not sure)

now the fun part

my prospective schools are:

U Chicago
Columbia
Stanford
Carleton College
Northwestern
Berkeley
Carnegie Mellon
UPenn
NYU
Wesleyan
Cornell
UCLA
U Michigan-Ann Harbor
Brown
Duke
UCSD

i know my chances are roughly 0% at some of these school, but im applying anyways. annd my list is kinda long but i have time to narrow, edit, revise so whatevv.

and a note to all u freaks with freakishly good stats that complain about not getting into a certain school, honestly chill. most people would kill (or do worse) to be in your position. life is short. live it up.

I'm sure you can get around 2100 or even higher, because you seem like a bright student. (except i dont get how you're able to switch around with IB classes?) Anyways, you should focus on committing yourself to a few ECs that say something about yourself. Writing down 15 hrs from library work won't help that much, but IMO, you should continue track. Any reasons why you gave it up? Gotta work on your list of ECs!
good luck

U Chicago: reach
Columbia: prob not
Stanford: rejection
Carleton College: dunno about this school
Northwestern: probably in. they emphasize GPA i think. a friend of mine with 3.98 and 1900 around SAT got in.
Berkeley: in-state: reach out of state: rejection
Carnegie Mellon: reach
UPenn: rejection
NYU: match
Wesleyan: match
Cornell: slight reach
UCLA: in-state: match/slight reach out-of-state: reach
U Michigan-Ann Harbor: it's Ann Arbor* and i'd say this is match
Brown: reach
Duke: rejection
UCSD: in-state :in out of state: reach

well i still have a year left so anything i wanna test SL in i can do next year.
with track, i didn't qualify in any meets that entire season. i just wasn't enjoying it that much.

thanks for the advice

if you get your scores up above 2100 youre gonna have good shots at your "reach" schools even
