Chances? (i know, sorry... just to get an idea)

As the title suggests, I really just want opinions about my chances based on what I've done in high school. I.E. does anything set me apart? Am I cut out? Etc... But really since Harvard is a crapshoot anyway and all sorts of people get denied and accepted every year, chances are quite a bit less important. But just some opinions about my supposed or most-probable chances based on you guys' opinions. Thanks in advance.

Tests:
ACT -- 35 composite with 8 on writing
SAT I -- 2120 with 9 on essay (I retook it in Nov.; projecting a 2200+ on that one, but not a big deal because of my ACT score)
SAT II -- 800 Math II, 800 Chem, 740 Physics

Academics:
Unweighted Cumulative (9th through 11th grade) GPA -- 4.000 (all A's)
Weighted Cumulative (9th through 11th grade) GPA -- 4.533
Weighted through 1st quarter 12th grade -- about a 4.6 (still a 4.0 unweighted, all A's)
Probably top 3 class (we don't rank except for val and salut, so I'm not completely sure where exactly I am.. I think I'll get Salutatorian since I took band for 4 years (which is a 4.0 class) vs. some other AP classes)
AP Tests (so far):
-Human Geo -- 3 (screwed up on this one...)
-World History -- 4 (social sciences/history classes are not my strong point, but I get A's in them and try my hardest to score high on the AP exams)
-Chemistry -- 5
-Physics B -- 5
-Calculus AB -- 5
AP Tests Senior year:
-Calculus BC
-U.S. Government and Politics
-Language and Composition
-Literature and Composition
-Biology

That's all I can remember for right now. If anything else comes to mind, I'll post again.

Thanks!

bump

any word?

sorry for it being so long; copied and pasted from another thread I posted in another forum

Well, I think you have some impressive stats. That being said, word of caution: be careful what your application says on it. I'm reading your list and cannot discern any passions you have, with the exception of band. It kinda seems like you were all over the map. You want to come off as passionate. I would suggest emphasizing your strong committment to band and then choosing very carefully what other activities you put on.

Wait, did you make the US Chem Olympiad team? If you did, you are most likely in.

^ no, we were just called chem olympiad finalists; i got 3rd in the state (lost 1st by 2 points), and I took the national exam.. i did alright on that test, but i was sick and really unfocused on that day.. but i got an above average score on the test, but nothing absolutely spectacular

to mr.fitzpatrick: that is true, and on my app some of that stuff isn't on there because it really looks like fluff; also, my common app essay is about my passion for music through my all-state audition experience, and how all that led me to take the Honors Senior Thesis course (my topic is on jazz music) (i don't plan on majoring in music -- chem/bio and then to med school for me -- but since music is my passion, i figured it would be good to elaborate on it)

SAT Score Update:
2270 (690 CR, 800 M, 780 W)

that 690 won't hurt, will it; i have a 1490 in M+CR

my 35 ACT is still better, though, so does it really matter?

All I can say is I am glad I'm not the one serving on those admissions committees. I couldn't imagine sorting through so much data (multiplied by thousands).

To OP: Your stats seem to be competitive. But we haven't read your essays and your recommendations. And the way you've presented all your assorted e.c's it isn't really clear what your real interests are. You may be better off deleting some of those e.c's where you are some sort of 'officer' but where it isn't clear what you do. I mean, engineering club? What kind of club is that? Can you tell a story about it? If yes, then make sure you tell it. If not, delete it.
