From other people that have been recruited to a top D3 school, how much does my recruitment help? And what are my chances if I wasn't recruited?

I’d say your chances are good. Your SAT is around the 25th percentile but your GPA looks great to me.
Without the soccer, probably a low reach. How many AP classes and tests have you taken and what were your scores? Also, what was your class rank?

AP Classes: 9
Calc AB, Government, Calc BC, English 11, Com Sci 3, Physics: Mech, Physics: E&M, Stats, English 12

Class Rank:
Weighted: 17/308
UW: 21/308

Would add to OP but CC doesn’t let me

SAT scores are fairly close to what I had when I got in. 770 M, 690 V and for SAT IIs I had a 510 on the Writing, 790 on Math IIc, and 510 on Writing.

Which school you’re applying to will heavily influence your chances of getting in. I heard from my football friends at CMU that being recruited for a sport isn’t /supposed/ to help you get in, but they said it was definitely something they felt helped them out.

I’m applying to CIT for engineering. Undecided engineering at first but I plan to go into comp engineering.
Also to AVHS Dad, AP scores weren’t great. All 3’s and 4’s. But enough to get me AP Scholar w/ Honor. I’m pretty sure the scores don’t affect me getting in or not.

If a college recruits you it pretty much means you are in.

As you said, those AP scores aren’t great but they certainly don’t hurt you. Class rank is very good and you’ve taken challenging courses. I think you’d have a good shot without soccer, but soccer puts you over the top.

Hey, I’m thinking of trying to play soccer at Carnegie Mellon too. Have to see if I get in though. Who do you play for?

a club team in Columbia, MD. SAC United Premier
how bout you?

I play for fc Milwaukee. Hope I see you there!
