should I send my SAT2s? I’m not gonna have a chance to retake them (had to pick between retaking SAT1 or SAT2). I’m taking the June ACT. Also, do you have any suggestions with my ECs? I’ll be taking Government through a community college during Girl’s State this summer. Does my senior course load look hard enough or should I switch AP Stat to AP calc BC or pick up some virtual classes? Thanks you guys!

Tight situation w/ SATs. If you do well in the June ACT, I would suggest taking the Subject Tests in Oct. I think the ECs are okay; just seize the opportunity to show leadership or expand upon your passion. I don’t know what IB SL Calc. is; would it be synonymous with AP Calculus AB? I would stick with taking the APs and, as long as you have completed the highest level of math you can, it’s okay to take Stat.

I tend to say if an SAT2 is over 700, send it. I also took my SATII’s in the December of my junior year (and all my EA schools accepted them). I would basically agree with EternalDreams, with Georgetown being a “mid-reach” and W&M being a “low reach” (god I hate CC terms).

good act/sat suggestions, thanks! IB SL calc is exactly the same thing as AP calc its just the way my transcript reads because I’m in the IB program. Which in case you aren’t familiar with it, is basically the international version of the AP program except with tons of bureaucracy and requirements. An IB Class is, by most, weighted/regarded as the same if not better as an AP class.

For the record, IB classes at most top schools are considered equal to AP classes – not better, not worse, just depends on which your high school offers. I know every single of the top universities on CC + Ivies all accept both AP and IB credit of some kind.

Schools:
I think you’d have a decent shot at Georgetown because they won’t even look at your writing. just accentuate your different-ness maybe cause i feel like they get a lot of similar people
Richmond you’ll get in they have a great buisness program!
Furman elon florida gettysburg youll get in
duke’s a reach for everyone so it’s hard to say.
William and Mary and Emory are probably good matches for you; they’re both super competitive but you’re definitely at that standard. Vanderbilt and rice are slightly more difficult i think but you should still be a very competitive applicant.
i think you’d get into wake too. get an interview if you want to go there though 80% of accepted students did

and if you wanna chance back or whatever
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1154141-what-am-i-good-enough.html</a></p>

what are me chances for merit aid? thanks! you guys rock!

Your chances are well explained by dblazer. You are a very strong student! You will do well.

Your chances at merit aid at Furman are terrific. If you are truly interested in Furman, I would suggest you apply for the Lay scholarship as well as the Townes scholarship. You appear to qualify for the Lay and it is a full academic award! (I believe 45K a year or so) The Townes is 25K a year. Many other perks go along with these two scholarships. You do need to apply for each scholarship then compete for the scholarship at a special event in the spring of your senior year.

Georgetown - mid reach
URichmond - Safety
Furman (legacy) -Safety
William and Mary - match/ low reach
Gettysburg College -Safety
Emory - low match
Wake Forest - Match
Duke - high Reach
Vanderbilt - Low Reach
Elon - Safety
SMU - Safety
Rice - Mid Reach
UF - Safety

chance me back!

Good stats for all those schools.

Georgetown - reach (probably the most competitive school that you’re considering)
URichmond - safety
Furman (legacy) -most likely in
William and Mary - low reach, oos is bad but male is good
Gettysburg College -probably in
Emory - match/safety
Wake Forest - same as w&m
Duke - just as competitive as georgetown, but your sats are on par and ecs are solid
Vanderbilt - high match
Elon - match
SMU - probably in
Rice - match/low reach
UF - safety

chance me?

Georgetown - yes
URichmond - yes
Furman (legacy) - yes
William and Mary - yes
Gettysburg College -probably
Emory - yes
Wake Forest - yes
Duke - Maybe (try raising your SAT score)
Vanderbilt - maybe
Elon - yes
SMU - yes
Rice - I’d say yes
UF - yes

chance me please :)

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1156472-important-please-chance-me.html</a></p>

I think you have a better chance for Georgetown than you think. A girl from the senior class at my school is going to Georgetown with similar grades/ amount of ecs. The only other schools im familiar with are vanderbilt and UF and I belive you have excellent chances at thoses schools comparing you to other kids that got in from my school. I know that colleges compare the applicant to their respective schools but its probably similar overall. So jelous of your grades! lol

update: I got a 34 ACT and kept my 4.0 through junior year. Also, I discovered I’m ranked 20th in my class (of 850) because my music classes carry no addition weight. Will this jeopardize my chances? Thanks!

you stand a great chance at all of those schools. You’d be hurting yourself if you don’t apply to Ivies. Write good essays + get great reccomendations and you should be fine.
